I read this article yesterday. It was a good read...

I will say he doesn't place any of the blame with the lakers. They were going crazy trying to sign lebron. Trading players, letting players walk, opening cap space all season. They deserve some of the blame, it's not all on lebron.

a lot of truth in the article.

When LeBron James came to LA were the expectations that he work behind the scenes to try and fire his coach, that he would work behind the scenes to try and trade all the young guys the Lakers have acquired, that he would suffer the longest injury of his career, that hte Lakers would be the 10th seed.

No one can look at the Lakers season and say that it has been anything close to what was expected when LeBron signed this summer.

Watching Paul George positively ball out is also not a good look for the Lakers very inexperienced management team.

I think they make the playoffs- mostly because of the Clippers giving up and tht the Kings are young and not ready- but man- scrounging for the 8 seed is a long way from where the Lakers expected to be this summer.

Especially in a Western Conference whre i think everyone expected the 8th seed a lot harder to obtain then it currently looks like it will be.

Last year it took 47 wins to make the playoffs in the West.

it is going to be at least a few games less sthan that this year.

If 47 was the mark again they would be in some serious shit- but they have been lucky in that regard.

Last year's Cavs only won 50, and that was with an Eastern Conference schedule. Put them in the West and they likely miss the playoffs too.

Like someone said if Lebron and Lonzo both didn't get hurt I think they would be in the 4th seed area. But the reality was that they aren't going to contend their goal was to acquire another super star in which paul George failed, and they showed their cards with Anthony Davis trade trying to force his way to LA which I think they planned way long ago. Their 3rd chance is this offseason I doubt Durant goes, I think they have a shot at Kyrie and cousins maybe or Jimmy Butler

While I am not a fan of LeBron, even I gotta admit that its pretty damned near impossible for him to live up to the hype in LA

Anything less than the start of a new dynasty is failed expectations for the Lakers.

I’m not willing to make a judgement until after this summer. Let’s see how the roster shapes up.

Last years Cavs were still .500 against west coast teams. The Lakers this year are 9-11 against east coast teams. They don't even have a winning record in the east lol

I just want him to get another star or two in tow before he retires, so the Lakers can continue to build around them. I can't count on him not losing a step or two over the balance of his contract.

It's Plashke, enough said. Doom and gloom.
Los Angeles Times writers are horrible - I quit reading their trash in the sports years ago - they are almost as stupid as the power rankings ESPN used to do

Lebron played in most of those east coast games tho

The lakers are not very good, the cavs still made the finals, and that is still a task even in the east. The best team in the east last year was probably equivalent to the 3rd best team overall in the NBA, which the lakers are nowhere near. They would be about the 6th best team in the east this year, which isn't saying much

That's a whole lot of words that have nothing to do what I said.

Lebron played all 82 games last year. The Cavs won 50. Do you honestly think they win 50 games if he missed 18 like ha has so far this year?
