I'm not so sure that getting less from another team (if it were to happen) is so bad considering it would be better than trading to the Lakers whom are in their same conference.

Trading him to a team in their same conference shouldn't be a big deal because they will be rebuilding anyway.

I understood the Spurs not wanting to send Kawhi to the Lakers because there was a chance they could see each other in the playoffs. Plus, Pop has deep hate for the Lakers because of all of the playoff battles.

But for the Pels, that would be a few years down the road. So, they should be focused on getting the best offer, no matter who it's from.

Clarkson is what he always has been- a solid 6th man scorer thats slightly overpaid at 14M a year.

I truly believe Klay could not be a #1 but he is a beast #2 in the right fit. That's why the W's are so dangerous, he fits in perfect and now he is a beast #3. Great shooter and defender.

the guy is a catch and shoot player that does not really do that well putting the ball on the ground.

Great ancillary piece- and worth a huge contract- but his skill set is not exactly broad.

The Pels are playing a bit of a dangerous game. They are gambling that Rich Paul can't drive down the offers from other teams.

If they win, then good for them.

But if they don't, they'll end up getting less than the Lakers are offering right now.

drive down the price on a 25 year old top 3 player in the league?

maybe if the Lakers had a Fox or a Tatum or something like that-

but what do they lose? The chance to pay Brandon Ingram? Ball asking out of town? Some late first rounders?

Well I don't have 2+ days to help explain to you why Klay is the better player. But if nothing else we absolutely share the same opinion about one another.

I can easily tell you why I don't think he is. He can't create his own shot. Butler Can. Klay is a better shooter but Butler is very good. Both are solid defenders. Butler also a better rebounder and passer.

This is the most sane thing posted. I guess the premise that Jimmy Butler or Tobias Harris would be a better #1 is absolutely arguable. But if you're looking at at #2 player or lower, Klay is the obvious choice every time.

Warriors won a championship and had another season of 73 wins with Klay undisputedly as their second best player. And this is coming from the biggest Draymond fan here on the site.

Well he is trying to build a winning team, and with Kryie & AD as your cornerstone super stars I would say that catapults him to the front of the races, quickly compared to having Brown & Tatum. Even if it is for a year.

But, there just is no guarantee he wouldn't resign with Boston. Just a month ago AD told the world he was only focused on being in NO, playing ball & winning. My, how quickly things have changed. I think what that tells us is that WINNING matters.

wouldn't call Harris, meh, but I get it. I think Butler is unquestionably a more valuable player than Klay. I think Harris is, but that is closer IMO.
