From my database:

Spotlight: 3.5/5 stars
Grand Budapest Hotel: N/A (saw it when it came out and liked it, but did not rate it then and haven't seen it since)
Silver Linings Playbook- Haven't seen
Whiplash: 2.5/5 stars
Get Out: 4/5 stars
The Wolf of Wallstreet: 3/5 stars
Manchester by the Sea: 1/5 stars
127 Hours: N/A (saw it when it came out, didn't like it, didn't rate it and haven't seen it since)
Moneyball: 4.5/5 stars
Gone Girl: 2/5 stars
Prisoners: 4.5/5 stars (on my top 10)
Birdman: 3/5 stars
The Social Network: N/A (saw it when it came out, thought it was just ok but obviously didn't rate movies back then)
The Martian: 3/5 stars

I think I already mentioned it to you once before but "A Separation" would probably make my list.

Imitation Game.
Hidden Figures.

Imitation Game was good, but it didn't really captivate me. No real qualms about it, though I have only seen it the one time.

Never seen Hidden Figures.

I was being liberal with the "one of the greatest movies of the decade" tag. I gave The Big Short 4/5 stars. I looked at my film database to answer your question. There are three movies of this decade I've given 5/5 stars, so I ranked them in order. There are 21 movies I've given 4.5/5 stars of this decade, so I picked the best seven of those to get 10 movies this decade. In order:

1. Arrival
2. End of Watch
3. Wind River
4. Hell or High Water
5. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
6. Shutter Island
7. Prisoners
8. The Hateful Eight
9. Flight
10. The Revenant

Arrival - I did not care for it at all. It was all story related.
End of Watch - good. I would need to watch it again to see how I would rate it myself.
Wind River - haven't watched yet. Yes, I know its on NETFLIX.
Hell or High Water - Haven't seen yet, but have heard good things.
Three Billboards - I thought it was pretty good. Think I gave it a 7/10, maybe an 8/10... don't remember.
Shutter Island - didn't like at all. Probably because I figured it out about 15 minutes into the movie... unfortunately shared that information with who I was with and ruined the movie for them too lol. Not bad acting, just didn't like the story. Found it to be predictable (obviously).
Prisoners - I really liked. 8/10.
The scene with Hugh Jackman identifying the sock in the police station really got to me because my daughter was similar in age at the time I saw the movie. Probably his best movie in my opinion
The Hateful Eight - I thought it was ok. Probably Tarantinos 4th or 5th best though in my opinion.
Flight - I remember liking this movie. I will have to check it out again.
The Revenant - Another one I don't remember too well. I remember not caring for Tom Hardys character, but I would have to check it out again.

Spotlight - what didn't you like about Spotlight?
Whiplash - 2.5/5?? What? lol.
Manchester by the Sea -
for similar reasons to Prisoners, it hit me in my feelers lol.
I will admit the story was fairly bland, but I felt the acting was solid, cinematography, use of dialogue, etc. were all solid.
127 Hours - I thought it was a brillant display from Franco as for character adaptation. He was able to do a lot in a movie where he was basically the ONLY character.
Gone Girl - never read the book and was very skeptical going in, but I really enjoyed it. I thought it had good pacing, dialogue was solid. The story was a little predictable, but I don't put too much into that so long as the dialogue and execution is good which I thought was.

Forgot about Split, I enjoyed that as well. Similar to 127 Hours in that McAvoy had a stellar performance and the fact that it led into M. Night essentially creating his own 'superhero universe' is brillant. I have been asking myself why someone hasn't tried to capitalize on this 'universe' movement in movies on their own for years. Probably 7/10 or 7.5/10.

Makes me super nervous about Glass. I REALLY hope it is a good movie, but I fear it will be pretty bad. Currently at 39% on rottentomatoes. :L

If we went back another year, I would absolutely have Inglorious Basterds on the list as well.

I'm a sucker for a wwii flick, and to see how much the father of modern computing contributed to the effort, captivated me. But as always ymmv.

Hidden Figures tells of three "sisters'" contributions to the space race.

Personally, I find the Jack Ryan movies a little overrated. Patriot Games is good, but not great. Clear and Present Danger is easily the better of these two. Shadow Recruit was meh. Sum of All Fears was... mediocre I thought. To each their own.

The Jack Ryan Amazon series is ok, but again, nothing amazing.

I've seen Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger and thought they were very good movies......

Never heard of Shadow Recruit.....

But I thought Sun was the best of the 3.....

My best movies between 2009-2018 would be:

1. The Social Network
2. Public Enemies
3. I, Tonya
4. Birdman
5. American Hustle
6. Wolf of Wall Street
7. Dunkirk
8. Martha Marcy May Marlene
9. Bridge of Spies
10. Hail, Caesar!

OJ Made In America probably blurs the line a little bit as its a mini-series documentary but if that counts then it would be my #1. There are some movies I still need to see from 2017 and 2018. 2017 in general was pretty stacked.

I think The Social Network is basically the perfect Gen X movie.

Watched Mile 22 the other night. I really liked it. Will be interesting to see how the series develops.

Ah, if I would've gone back to 2008 then The Dark Knight would probably be #1 or #2. I think I've seen that at least eight times.

I thought the site I was looking at said 2009. I'd probably slide up Moneyball then.

2009 isn't in this decade bruh.

I do remember loving Public Enemies, though I didn't rate it. I'm gonna rewatch that one soon so I can rate it.

Bird Box. 6.5/10

It was basically A Quiet Place but instead of noise it was sight. I actually thought it had more tense moments than A Quiet Place. I thought a Quiet Place was a bit overrated. 95% rotten tomatoes? Whatever you say.
