i am one of the biggets basketball fans, comparatively in the city.....i am just saying what the over-all mentality is.
So why not post about the Browns on the NFL forum? Not trolling, genuinely curious...

They are one of the best stories in the NFL, I'm actually rooting for them to keep getting better. Why not mix it up with the other football posters?

That is a last place schedule. That is how the NFL works. Any given team plays 2x in division, once vs a division in your conference and the other conference, and against the teams that finished where you did in your division in every other division. So, the Browns play the AFC North twice, the AFC West, the NFC South, and the teams that finished last in all other divisions.

Not all the other divisions. Just the other AFC divisions so whoever finished last in the AFC East & South.

That's never going to happen

You're right. I didn't mean to imply that is was. I'm just saying that it needs to. The Heat's roster is pretty poor and littered with some awful contracts. It's overachieved the last couple of years because Spo is a darn good coach. Unless they can sucker some team into taking on some of those average to sub average players on bad contracts, the Heat's future is pretty bleak. They do own their picks for a couple of years so the only way they realistically have a shot at boosting that talent is through the draft. But that could be hard if they keep making chicken salad and grinding out records that land them in the late lottery every year. Ideally, they'd suck ass right now and get a top pick, next year perhaps as well. Then when those awful deals are set to expire, they'd have have some promising young talent and a lot more flexibility. The current path their own though is a no man's land.

Yes, the Rams have been disappointing the last few weeks. They survived their lackluster play vs the Lions, but have now lost two in a row. Luckily, they have what SHOULD be easy wins to get their offense straightened out left on their schedule. Hopefully they don't take the Cards and especially the Niners too easily. Their defense has been basically crap all season. Once a team doubles and triples Donald, the other linemen should have easy days 1 on 1 against their opposite OLs, but it hasn't worked out that way. The defense has a horrible problem of not holding their responsibilities and jumping out of their assigned lanes, and getting gashed via the run as a result.

Borderline HOFers at every position group is a big exaggeration. I count two right now unless you want to talk punter lol (Gurley, Donald).

5 youngest rosters in the NFL: Bengals (25.2), Browns (25.3), Cowboys (25.4), Rams (25.5), Jags (25.5).
the Browns had one of the toughest schedules in football this year.

Ranking 32 NFL teams by strength of schedule

going into the year it was tied for 5th most difficult by USA Today

The Proper Way to Calculate 2018 NFL Strength of Schedule | SBD

Bovada had them at 6th most difficult.

if you calculated it on a rolling basis based on this years results- it is still 5th most difficult

;)

I mean- to a certain extent its common sense too--- just look at their beter opponents-- Saints, Chargers, Chiefs, Pittsburgh twice, Baltimore twice, Texans....

i understand your logic- and there is someting to that- but the browns got hosed bad this year despite finishing last place last year.

You can calculate the schedule how YOU want to or we can use metrics. It's at about 5 or 6 as one of the toughest schedules. Key opponents they have played: Saints, Panthers, Steelers (2x), Ravens (2x), Chiefs, Chargers, Texans and Broncos.

So in the AFC they have played currently: #1 seed, #2 seed, #4 seed (2x), #5 seed, #6 seed (twice). Also, the #1 seed in the NFC. Just looking at the schedule you know it is one of the toughest schedules. Not sure what you are seeing.

As of right now, they have a tougher schedule than anyone in the NFC lol. And they are 5th in the AFC.

i understand where his statement comes from--- because ordinarly its the right card to play--- if you finish last- you play the last place team in this division...etc....that is usually enough to sway things--- but for the Browns, this year, they had one of the hardest schedules in the league by any measure, whether before the season started, or by measuring it now as shown in those articles i posted to.

plus- just the smell test-- KC, San Diego, Texans, Pitt twice, New Orleans....I mean- right there you got 5 of the best teams in the league. I mean- 4 teams get byes in the playoffs and the Browns, right now anyway, have played 3 of them--- and that doesnt even count San Diego or Pittsburgh who are damn good teams.

Well it doesn't help playing the Chiefs, Chargers and even the Broncos twice. That probably propped up their schedule.

They also played:
Rams
Seahawks
Colts
Ravens
Steelers

That's a pretty tough schedule.

I mean look at their losses:

12- 2 Saints - 3 points (should have won)
11-3 Chargers
11-3 Chiefs
10-4 Texans
8-5 Steelers (lost one, tied one)
5-9 Bucs - 3 points
3-11 Raiders - (bad call should have won)

So they have 7 losses, 5 of those are to teams that will be in the playoffs and 4 have 10 wins or more.

Can't he get attention over where they are actually talking football?

The Browns not sucking as much as they have in previous years is literally all he has right now. He's probably bored the fuck outta his Burger King coworkers.

Obviously if you are terrible the 6 division games are vs tough teams. This year especially with KC and LA

A little concerned about this game on Tuesday since we're 7-8 away from Staples Center.

Watching him night in and night out thus far Paul George should be in the MVP discussion. He won’t be but he is playing some amazing ball at the moment.
