Didn't fit my narrative obviously.

But seriously I left it out, only to show that vocal outbursts at practices happen. Also that the leaking of the information by the team sources lead to that being known. Of course likely it all comes out anyways with JB's interview, but the fact it was out there first was a team deal.

The Butler being traded situation is a separate issue, IMO. In this thread I've been defending JB's practice antics and him calling out his teammates and staff. That's why I quoted KG's part about him doing the same. The whole trade situation has been handled poorly by Butler, but the team holds responsibility in this too.

That's all well and good but KG questions whether Butler has the right to do this, that absolutely backs the point I have been making this entire time.

I had a different outtake on KG's comments, but maybe that's me reading it through my lens. I took away that he meant that Jimmy doesn't have the juice to force the trade he wants by acting like that. I didn't take away that what Jimmy did as far as the outburst went wouldn't be an impact on his teammates. I felt like KG's comments were condoning JB's actions but saying that ultimately they don't mean much by way of forcing the team to trade him. It was much less about the impact on his teammates and more so about the impact on the front office.

Just my 2 cents.

That was my take away too. KG condoned his actions as far as getting in his teammates faces. But that he shouldn't have pushed the trade demand aspect.

Yeah, we differ here because of course players have the right to request a trade, but in Jimmy's case he hasn't earned the right to be an ass hole and rip the players, coaches and everyone else within the organization for the entire world to see!

Alright even if that's what he meant I still don't think he's earned the right to go after the organization the way he did...

That honestly makes no sense, why would a player not have the right to request a trade?

Wanna read my post again and tell me where I said he didn't have the right to request a trade?

Also, KG is saying that because he was loyal to Minnesota and despite the losing he never asked to be traded and had to be forced to accept the deal to the Celtics.

Wanna read my post again where I changed what I said?

What the fuck are you talking about? I never said you changed anything.

I responded to Sushi's post and said that I agreed with his takeaway that KG was condoning his tirade at practice, but questioning whether or not he has the "juice" as far as the trade aspect.

Of course Butler has the right to request a trade. I never said he didn't. I just said that he shouldn't have pushed the trade demand. At least not publicly. I don't like when any player publicly demands a trade. It lowers the value of what a team can get for him.

I think you might be having a a stroke!

I had originally said this

"That honestly makes no sense, why would a player not have the right to request a trade?"

But then I edited that post and said something completely different.

But you obviously didn't see that I had edited the post and responded with this.

"Wanna read my post again and tell me where I said he didn't have the right to request a trade?"

So my response was wanna read my post again...

You okay now?

Now my actual response...

I think that's what KG was suggesting. That he was perfectly ok with him going after his teammates. That's something that the best player on every team has done for decades. Heck, sometimes it's not even the best player. Draymond Green is good example of that.

But for him to publicly go after the organization wasn't ok and he was questioning whether or not Butler had the "juice" to be doing that anyway.

Ftr, I agree with KG.

I agree with you that the shitty part about what Butler did was that he did it in the public eye. Had he done all of this without ESPN present, it might have even been good for the team.

But in all honesty, if Butler doesn't have the right, than who does? Because Townes and Wiggins ain't doing it. Somebody needs to step up and lead. I just don't think he should have been so public. Then again, the publicity stunt was surely designed to get Minny to trade him.

Draymond is not a good example IMO, he's only played for the Warriors, Butler has played 63 games with the Wolves then asked to be moved, he does not want to be a part of the organization anymore so what right does he have to rip on the players or the organization? He doesn't period!

Btw, @Nosferatu that's where you're saying he's only played 59 games in Minnesota makes sense and may be the disconnect from yesterday.

I agree that a guy who has played all of 59 games with an organization hasn't earned the right to be going after the organization like he did.

But I do think that his years in the league and what he has done in the league, does give him the right to go after his teammates in practice and be listened to by them.

I disagree to a point. First of all, as @tlance just pointed out, no one else was doing it.

Butlers time in the league and the fact that he's the Wolves best player gives him the right to go after teammates, especially if the effort isn't there like it should be.

However, he has not been with the Wolves long enough to be going after the organization.

As for not wanting to be part of the organization...I do agree that if he truly wants out, he should not have attacked his teammates, he should have just quietly gone to the FO and said, I want out and let them get whatever they can for him.

Pretty much been my stance on this from the beginning. If he's not committed to the team then he needs to STFU. Oh and he does not care about winning it's about $$$ and only the money! I used to like him but the way he has been the last few weeks has made me hate the fucker and I can't wait until he's finally moved!

I'm not sure it's only about the money. I agree with @tlance that the Wolves offer was pretty insulting.

And before you come back with "But...the Clippers, Knicks, etc."

If rumors are true, there was talk of him wanting to team up with Kyrie in New York and The Logo is working with the Clips.

In both cases I would suspect that it's about going to a team that can both afford to pay him what he feels he's worth and that can also bring in players he can win with.

On a sidenote, how funny would it be if he was traded to one of those teams and Wiggins was included in the trade?

Not sure it was insulting, I don't believe that management thought he would accept but they probably felt like they had to offer something. I wish someone would insult me with $110M lolzzz but yeah I don't have a problem with him turning that offer down but when he wanted to get his salary this year to $30M and then get the 4 year $145M and the Wolves said no only then did he lose it.
