Well
It will last me forever.
Might be the last vehicle I ever buy.

A Chevy or a Fiat won't last 5 years.
Just cuz your Chevette puked before it's time, doesn't mean a Chevy won't last.
It's very easy to defeat your opinion.
5 minutes of research will illuminate the truth.
However, you are pretty close on the Fiat opinion though.

The new Nissan Titan’s with the Diesel engine can be hand for just a little over 30k if you don’t need all the bells and whistles. Still comes with cruise, 4x4 if you want it, automatics everything, push start, and a HUD with Bluetooth.
They are soft as a pancake on the resale market.

That thing is sick. If I didn’t have to have a full size pickup (tundra) I’d be all over the Tacoma. I’ve always like them.

I open a thread about "trucks" and so far no one has mentioned or posted a photo a real truck yet :L

The crap you boys are gushing over is fine for bringing a couple of bags of trash to the landfill or going to the grocery store. Sorry though, they are not trucks, they are your wife's station wagon with the back half of the roof carved off.

So I recently decided to buy a "sort of truck" myself. :dhd:

I kept my 07 Ram 2500 for doing the dirty work and plowing and I bought a nice Silverado 1500.

It is a 2016 LTZ with the 5.3 Ecotec V-8. Heated leather seats, climate control, remote start, towing package etc. Did a 1 day road trip to Montreal a week after acquiring it and averaged 19.1 mpg hauling at 79mph on rt. 89.

Wonder what the buy price will be on one of these.

After a couple years with that Grand Cherokee, I have to say it's very nice and under-rated. Supposedly, they made the Wrangler a lot more Grand Cherokee-esque for 2018. It's much better on the highway and even off road. If so, that truckified Wrangler should be pretty nice.

However, going up against the new Ram and with the Ranger coming and all that...it's going to be a competitive market.

I miss my old GMC Jimmies. I had one like this
8055668-1973-gmc-jimmy-c-k-1500-std.jpg

and it had the one piece top so I could make it a ragtoptop like this
1975-gmc-jimmy-convertible-with-454-ci-very-clean-73-k-miles-1.jpg

and with a 350c.i. V-8, military spec transfer case and lockers in both axles it would go anywhere a Jeep would go (except between two trees that are too close apart) and it is less noisy and and better handling vehicle on the open road.

I see them cleaned up and repowered all the time. Full restos are a $ rip-off for a daily driver. But you should get a clean one and make it work. New brakes, electrical and maybe engine and exhaust isn't that much $ and you'd have watcha' want.

I never should've sold the Wagoneer, but wifey was a PITA about it. Now look what they sell for!

I needed to junk the baby blue 74 Jimmy because the underside was rotten and the rest of the truck needed a complete restoration. My wife was in nursing school and I had 3 kids so funds were not available for all that. I ended buying an all black 83 Jimmy that needed a motor for $1,000 because it was otherwise in fantastic condition. I put a 300HP 350c.i. and the military grade (NP203) transfer case from the 74 in it and had some great fun with that one for a while.

I've seen Jimmys and Blazers from the early 70 selling in the low 20's, but the restored units are fetching $40K+.

Fuck dat.

Most of them did what yours did and ended up in junk yards.

Probably why a good example brings so much money.
Not that many left.

Used to see them everywhere when new.
