Starr is the only quarterback in NFL history to lead a team to three consecutive league championships (1965–67). Starr and New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady are tied for total NFL championships, at five each. Starr led his team to victories in the first two Super Bowls: I and II.
The context was and remains the minimum level of production to get into the HOF at the QB position. My post was in response to a suggestion that we need to change the requirements from earlier period. I was pointing out that requirements have already evolved and continue to evolve.
I mentioned Stabler and Starr, but I can make a sizable list of QBs now in the HOF whose numbers would not get them in today.
