Still too early to call Dak a fraud?

Granted, he has a bad offensive coordinator, subpar receivers and a "vaunted offensive line" that has started looking downright mediocre.

But is Dak Prescott maybe not that good?

The Cowboys' quarterback failed to throw for 200 yards for the ninth time in the last 11 games. He appears completely and utterly out of synch, unable to sustain drives or produce big plays at key moments.

Dak Prescott’s brilliant start has begun to sour. Here’s what Cowboys need to do next

Is Dak a dud? Or does he deserve more time, with a real coach, to prove whether he belongs as a starting NFL QB?

They'll be bad enough to draft a QB this year and move on.

My sense is they will stick with him longer, and give him a shot to work with the new coach, unless he really screws the pooch this year.

Called him a fraud in his first year and was told by various Cowboys fans on this forum that: "you are jealous" despite us having RW so I have no clue wtf that was about.

Regardless, the reason I called him a bust is his mechanics, arm strength, and ability to recognize defenses. Dak's footwork is absolutely horrid and his stutter step could probably put Prabhu Deva out of commission. He cannot throw out routes or anything downfield to save his life, and routinely fails to recognize blitzes and adapt.

Dak profited off a top 5 RB draft pick and an offensive line that my slow white (yes I went racial) ass could average 1.9 yards behind in the NFL.

Dak is a serviceable QB which is all you can hope for from a 4th rounder. The last two years he had one of the best O lines and one of the best RBs in the game. Now his O line is tattered a bit and teams have learned that if you stop the run, Dak does not have the pass catching weapons, nor is he that good at improvising. Looking down the road, Dallas has a lot of bucks tied up in the O line but their cap space opens up a lot next year. They just need to make good decisions in drafting and FA. In hind sight I'm guessing they wish they would have taken Calvin Ridley in the first round this year. My guess is they sign Dak to a 3 or 4 year contract in the $20mm a year range.

Dak is an ok NFL quarterback. He can do some good things if he has a lot of talent around him

If DAL can improve the position in the draft, I think you improve the position, but from what I can see, DAL is more than a QB away from being a playoff caliber team. They have parts of a good OL, a few DEF potential studs and that's it.

Railing on what we know is a mediocre QB with a weak supporting cast week after week...eehh.

Actually this is the winning take.

DAL could run after a new QB next year, but until they surround said QB with something more than they have right now, they would be spinning their wheels in the mud.

On the radio this morning they mentioned that he has been hit or sacked on one of every three drop backs so far this season. Add to that no receiving weapons at all and it’s not hard to understand why he’s struggling.

I’m not sure why you would give a long term contract worth 20 mill a year to someone u think is just an average player.

Dak Prescott is struggling because he's a terrible QB. Outside of TERRIBLE mechanics, he's pretty quick to throw any weapons he has under the bus.

Dude are you serious? So you're just one of those "have an opinion" guys without actually studying or watching anything? YouTube Dez Bryant is not Guilty and actually educate yourself before responding again.

I think it is fair to question the talent around him for sure. But I think he himself is nothing but a mediocre talent as others said above. He looks like a decent 4th round QB. In most places he would be a career backup.

1. Cuz $20MM ain't that much for a QB these days
2. What is your alternative?

In an era where you are flagged on defense for tackling, it's nearly impossible for an NFL QB to throw for less than 200 yards in 9 of 11 games

This is the worst QB in the NFL
