So I used my friend google for a quick search, and came to the conclusion people need to reassess the word white supremacy and racism.

It looks like another effort by the left to silence another viewpoint based on science because it doesn’t like the conclusion of the science.

Forced charity is very relevant when you bring up government taxation as a positive for immigration.

You don’t accept governmental data as true. If somebody shows actual data such as the cost of first generation immigrants costing 300 billion annually, you dismiss it when they say, but the long term effect is a positive, without asking how they came to that conclusion.

Definitions are pretty clear.

rac·ism
ˈrāˌsizəm/
noun
  1. prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior.
    "a program to combat racism"
synonyms: racial discrimination, racialism, racial prejudice, xenophobia, chauvinism, bigotry, casteism
"Aborigines are the main victims of racism in Australia"
    • the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races.
      noun: racism
      "theories of racism"

white su·prem·a·cy
noun
  1. the belief that white people are superior to those of all other races, especially the black race, and should therefore dominate society.

graduated university in 2009. I know what its like. Heck I almost made one of the most regrettable mistakes ever and voted for Obama 1st term. I mean he was campaigning on my campus along with Mccain. Thankfully at the final hour I wrote it Ron Paul.

Fact is I didnt know anything and you dont know anything. Until you experience the real world and how things really work post undergrad you need to take a seat at the kids table. I just brush through your responses actually I dont even read them when it comes to anything politics. I'm also very familiar with Penn State. More familiar with Penn State then I wish I was to be honest.

Now if you have an opinion about football or movies or literally anything other then politics I would listen.

Well apparently college has changed a lot since your days since you dont seem to have a good feel for what its like at all.

Fact is... you being an idiot in college has nothing to do with me.

And if you're familiar with penn state you're likely aware that its an excellent university. Not sure what your point is.

So basically... you think im an idiot becauuuuse...why? I went to college? Huh? How does that make sense? And im not sure what my education has to do with my political views. Not that you even know anything about my education.

If you have a problem with my arguments thats one thing. But then you can actually try to refute them rather than spout off about whatever it is your mad about.

It appears you haven't actually gotten any more informed since your college days but as always... you're welcome to actually try and convince me otherwise with a legitimate argument.

ACA
stimulus bill

I'd assume

Huh?

You make more wildly inaccurate assumptions than anybody i know. Truly immpressive.

You seem to have a lot of contempt for me for a suspected liberal lean which is a little nutty on your part for several reasons. Come back to reality buddy.

The problem is, if you admit that things like Racism and white Supremacy are still a problem in this country, you have a choice to make

1. Try to change it
2. Say its not my problem as it does not negatively impact me
3. Actively or passively support it.

or take the Survivor option

PSU was my safety fwiw

I didnt say I think you are an idiot. I do however think you need to experience life after the bubble of undergrad before you take a seat at the adult table to discuss politics. I also had really strong political views during undergrad and they have since shifted a bit because I didnt know anything at the time. I thought I knew everything. I have cousins who are early 20s in graduate school. They know a lot about their field of study. When it comes to politics they dont know anything. Their opinion may be right but its baseless because they have limited life experience. Same shit though, they know a lot in their field of study and believe as a result they know everything, they dont.

Your arguments are bad, baseless, and full of confirmation bias. Also to me not worth humoring or debating.

We can talk politics in a few years after you pay bills, taxes, put in the 40 hour work weeks in your field, and experience more life. Till then we can talk Redskins football, 6ers basketball, or really anything outside of politics. For now your political opinions and social stances are taken with a heavy grain of salt.

Why does it have to be so black and white, no pun intended?

Cant you admit that racism and white supremacy is a problem in this country but also admit that:

A) its being a bit blown out of proportion
B) as white supremacy is dissipating "reverse" racism is festering?

Well because the truth is, its not blown out of proportion, racism and white Supremacy have just become more attuned to working in the shadows. But you still have supremacists running for office, and winning in some instances. Now I know the authour Im about to site is black, and as such may have a little bias in his piece, but there is alot of truth in it as well.

What Is White Supremacy? - The Atlantic

“By ‘white supremacy’ I do not mean to allude only to the self-conscious racism of white supremacist hate groups. I refer instead to a political, economic and cultural system in which whites overwhelmingly control power and material resources, conscious and unconscious ideas of white superiority and entitlement are widespread, and relations of white dominance and non-white subordination are daily reenacted across a broad array of institutions and social settings.”

As for revers racism, the term in and of itself is an oxymoron.

The reverse of racism is to NOT be a racist. But it sounds much more dire when you say well if a black or Latino is afforded an opportunity because of their skin color, its revers racism against white people. As if to imply that whites are NOT being given that opportunity because they are white.

1. The "study" assumed worst case scenario at every opportunity with little to back it up then extrapolated that. Pretty sketchy.

Why you think my sources are far left is beyond me. On second thought its not but nevermind. But it is puzzling that you keep claiming im not justifying my claims against the FAIR source even though i clearly outlined themfrom the get go yet you claim my sources are far left with no justification.

2. Why would you lie about being an immigrant? How is census data inaccurate? Glad you finally looked up how it's actually calculated though.

3. Why is labor participation better than unemployment rate? Not sure common sense does actually say that but either way use data not subjective common sense.

4. Cool

5. Lets break down whats happening. You say something without a source. I correct you with a statement backed by a source i have provided. You claim that me saying something doesnt make it true. Oh the irony.

6. Im not sure why you assume illegals arent working.

7. Source?

10. Ok? Have them get on that. Seems off topic no?

11. I think punishing people already here is pretty rough.

12. What?

13. Ugh remind me to discuss that later. But immigration and trade is a nice start.

14. Ok

16. Literally none of those things you said are evidence of that

1- Michael Bloomberg is far left. Can you show me any topic where he isn’t? If you can find one, please show me a second. You are making claims against FAIR with no justification. SPLC making a claim isn’t justifying your claim either.

2- If you are breaking the law (illegal immigrant in this case), and the government sends out a questionairre saying we are just checkiking and won’t hold it against you, do you answer honestly?

3- the unemployment rate doesn’t include those not actively seeking.

5. https://www.dhs.gov/sites/default/f...lation Estimates in the US January 2014_1.pdf notice methodology at foreign born people are less likely to respond.

Frequently Requested Statistics on Immigrants and Immigration in the United States 1/5 of all migrants reside in the US as of 2017. Notice the share of immigrants in the chart consistently moving up in the US. At what point does the US assimilate to the immigrants? Notice 45% of immigrants have Latino origins and 46 % of immigrants are white. For those who believe we are racist against Latinos, Latinos are considered white. 32% of citizens are college educated while 30% of immigrants are but here is the huge difference, 29% of immigrants lack a HS diploma compared to 9% of citizens. ACA helped foreigners more than US citizens. 32% of children living in poor families were with immigrant parents.

The Cost of Illegal Immigration to US Taxpayers | FAIR You don’t like the source but you cannot deny the information.

What else do you want me to google?

6. I didn’t say they were not working. I said they don’t make enough to not be a burden. https://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2016-03-01/study-undocumented-immigrants-pay-billions-in-taxes
This article even tries to make it out that illegals are paying a good amount but let’s look closer. If we have 325 million people residing in the US and 12 million are illegal, that is almost 4% of the article states that illegals pay a whopping 12 billion in sales, excise, and income taxes. Well, the federal government took in 2 trillion dollars in income taxes last year. Brace yourself...that is a whopping .6% paid by that 4% of the population and that is being nice enough to count all heir tax contributions. Now if we want to be fair, we could look at the 6 trillion paid in total taxes and they only paid .2%.

7- I will clarify. They do help the economy grow because they are more people spending money and taking money from the government so it can be respent. A few are entrepreneurial. They do not help wage growth. They increase demand for very few things. They increase tax revenue by .02% while accounting 4% of the population. Very few bring innovation. Cultural diversity is highly overrated but tell me, if their culture is already here, does it make us more diverse? Do you refer to everything non-white as diverse? Do their children make highly productive citizens? I showed the actual numbers and it didn’t appear to be true...29% don’t graduate HS compared to 9% of Us citizens while 2% fewer graduate college.

10- Not off topic at all. Why do people immigrate? To make a better life for themselves. If the U.N. was doing their job, wouldn’t they be able to improve their lives where they are at?

11- Punish the employers of illegals. Punishing people for breaking the law is the right thing to do. Murderers are already here...should we not punish them?

12- The left doesn’t care about these issues. They care about creating a voting block loyal to them. They did this with blacks as well...funny how democratic leadership leads to the destruction of communities they are claiming to want to help.

13- How has he hurt trade?

16- Everyone of those things is evidence of non-assimilation.

Exactly. So prove to me, with evidence, that John Tatum or whatever his name is, is a white supremist.

Uprooting racism should be the goal but once you realize racism is being used as a crutch its already too late and I believe we are not only trending in that direction but we are dangerously walking that tight rope as we speak.

The term reverse racism is stupid. Its just racism. I only used it because everyone generally knows what it entails and means. I've come across it quite a bit in the last 4-5 years and I couldnt be nicer and friendlier in the situations prior to when I've felt it.

Shark I have a ton of respect for you and you have actually altered my stance a bit through these conversations the past few weeks. I think its really hard for me to view it from your perspective and walk in your shoes where you've been followed around a store or called the N word because I havent experienced it. Its also tough for you to see it from my perspective and walk in my shoes where if I have a conservative leaning I'm called the R word (racist) because you are immune to that label like I am of the other label

Prove to me he isnt.

Reality is, policies or ideas designed to maintain the status quo or halt progress, especially when directed towards non white racial groups are usually seen as racist.

Yea hes an uber rich liberal who donates money to political causes. I dont see anything suggesting hes corrupting or connected to bloomberg yet you seem to be claiming that. Do you have something to back that up? Or is that not what you're saying?

George Soros isnt the boogeyman. Hes just a super rich dude you disagree with. Shrug. Who cares.

Ehh theres plenty of right wing media too. Ever heard of Fox News?

No not any source from the right is far right. My preferred news source is the WSJ which learn leans right. There are plenty of solid conservative leaning sources.

What? Thats not my issue with the source. I never said that. Where are you getting that?

Yes i did attack your source. Because not everything you read on the internet is true. Being aware of sources is important. Don't post bad sources and i won't criticize your sources. That simple.

So you're essentially admitting to being motivated by anecdotal and emotional evidence. That's not a good defense of your argument.

Im not advocating for illegal immigration. Not sure why you think that.

Fox News. Fair and balanced

Very good post. Isn’t it funny how most of holywood, college students, people who expect to get everything handed to them, or folks so well off they don’t have to worry about the real world are liberals?

It is impossible to prove he isn’t. The claim was made that he was. I was looking to see if there was evidence that he was.

Progress? Way over used.

Could it be the ideas are just bad and disagreed with? Nope...it is always racist.

How can the word PROGRESS be way over used?? The point is to move forward and KEEP moving forward. UNless one thinks we have reached the highest we can as a society, one should always be hoping for progress. And yes Progress does likely mean moving away from some of the norms in this country. The only reason to be against progress is if you feel that it will some how hurt or hinder you or your progeny.

Now I get that some people seem to think the country is getting worse. And Im fine with that. The problem is, they always seem to want to blame the getting worse on Blacks, Mexicans, Muslims, Gays, Transgenders or feminists. So yea, when people tend to think these groups are what ruined the country, and the same group generally thinks America would be a much greater place if we just got rid of or could control THOSE groups... yea I tend to think they are bit racist, bigoted, and generally regressive.
