Kyrie Irving started and played 75 games last year- and 2 of the 6 misses were down the stretch when the seeding was already in place- and he averaged top 5 minutes per game in the league.

Just saying- how many of Kobe's last few seasons would have to be combined to get to 75 games?

Too bad those 75 games didn't include the last 5 games of the finals. @you comparing a 21 year old not finishing seasons to a 36 year old not finishing seasons.

chieflakers was the one that originally made the dumb comparison- and Kyrie is now 23...and- top 5 pure scorer in the NBA? best handle in the league? vastly improved defense last year? big time clutch gene? is he a top 5 pg yet? gotta think its close if not already there.

I will tell ya- having Kyrie signed for his age 23-27 seasons at about 17M a year is going to look freaking AMAZING as time goes on- especially next year.

as far as clutch goes- and having both an outside shooting game and a get-to-the-basket game, I feel just as good if not better with Kyrie taking last second shots as Bron. Ive seen way too many stanky-leg LeBron pounding the ball and taking a fade away 20 footer in my lifetime...

I would think Lakers fans and Heat fans really do not like Gilbert---- really- any fan of a big market team after the work he has done leveling the playing field- all though I can definitely see a particular hatred from Lakers fans after Gilbert and Cuban led the charge to get the CP3 deal vetoed- while for Heat fans Gilbert helped pass reform that made it very difficult for an owner who does not like to go far into the tax like Arison from bringing any help in around his big 3- and then took advantage of that by his own willingness to pay the punitive taxes he helped institute.

Cleveland fans love him- especially in a town where the Indians are el cheapo and the Browns are pretty much incompetent- Gilbert spends freely, has put together a championship contender, does a ton of work in the community, opened up huge Quicken offices downtown right next to the arena- owns the Casino thats dtown.....really he is everyhting you could ask for.

James temporarily leveled the playing field. Nothing to do with Gilbert other then giving control to James.

Gilbert did nothing before him or will do anything after him that would even REMOTELY make Cleveland a destination of choice.

Meanwhile, players are still signing discounted salaries to play with a last year 37 win Heat team.

And you should really quit trying to compare how Arison spent on FA with the Big 3, because the rules constantly precluded him to add ANYTHING OF SUBSTANCE going back to day 1 when they all had to agree to sign for less in order to just play together.

Cant count the number of times you and other people have said this lol. He played 75 games and over including some of the playoffs, you can call it what you want but he was about to play in the Finals if not for a freak knee injury. Over 80 games is way healthier than Kobe has been, no comparison.

the guy's NEVER finished a season, bottom line. color it any way you like...

I mean- if they dont intend to bring him back and they are sucking around the all star break and someone offers you an asset or two- I think you gotta think about it -especially If Kobe WANTS to go seek a title with an actual contender.

IF Kobe wanted to finish his career anywhere other than the Lakers, he would only agree to be traded to a contender. The problem is, any team that traded for him would have to send back matching salaries. That means either a max player or a whole bunch of solid role players. Either way, it takes away the very players that make them a contender. It's like when 'Melo forced his way to the Knicks. He thought he was going to a playoff team, but they had to trade away so many of their players that he ended up on a worse team than the one he left.

Also, everyone knows that Kobe is 99% set on retiring. Why would any team want to give up what they'd have to give up to have Kobe for less than half a season?

the rules allowed for a MLE - which he left unused. Please- we have gone over this time and time again- This is my last post on it- Arison went el cheapo at the worst possible time- and he paid for it by Bron leaving and not-passing-go and going directly to the lotto.

Good day sir.

ill bet you Kobe does not retire. He wants to go up the all time scoring list.

CL also point out that he's made of glass and never finished a season on the court.

And, I must have missed the season where Kyrie finished in the top 5 in NBA scoring.

Again, please explain to us what age has anything to with if your body can't take the pounding?
It doesn't matter if your 12.

You trying to compare it to Kobe is way off. The facts are he played close to 160 games the last 2 seasons. He is progressing, it takes time and hopefully that progression continues.

I know the rules, and agree, no reason to rehash your ignorance but the Heat were able to sign the EXACT same player for a veterans minimum as they would have gotten for a 3M mini mid level.
You simply just talk nonsense.

You keep act like or forgetting that only 2 teams in 4 years beat the Heat in a series.
That's pretty damn good, regardless of your lack of acknowledgement.

It doesn't matter Shane.
His most serious injuries (correct?) occurred as last season ended.
There is nothing to lead one to say that he will ever stay healthy until he actually does.

Why are you deflecting? No one is saying that Kyrie isn't a great player when he's healthy. No one is questioning his stats. Heck, I've said multiple times that I hope his injury troubles are behind him because the kid is fun to watch. Problem is, he hasn't played a full season since his junior year of high school. Unfortunately, that doesn't speak to a long, healthy NBA career.

It's not a criticism because it's not his fault. From everything I've read and heard, he does everything that he should as far as trying to stay healthy and stay in shape. Some guys just can't. Hopefully, that changes for him going forward, but early returns are not favorable.

Shit happens, but lets not act like he was healthy virtually the whole season. I have said it over and over, he isnt used to playing an extra 20 games. They have depth now, which should help give him some rest if Blatt is smart. The facts are he has been progressing in every season so far

Kyrie's games played per year is the same as Wade's ~ 65. Wade only played 50 games twice in his first 5 years.
Bosh had a freak injury last year... so did Love.

There's a lot of talking from both sides of the mouth going on from some Heat fans regarding the Heat and Cavs health situations.

What?
Show me where you see ANY Heat fan EXPECTING Wade to be healthy all season.
We hope.

That should be Cavs fans mentality with Kyrie.
Age means nothing.

hey- when you are loaded like the Cavs and the favorite- people are going to knit-pick. It just comes with the territory- ESPECIALLY when you have LeBron every single thing on your team is going to be analyzed- then analyzed again etc...

1 Jimmy Butler, SG CHI 65 2513 38.7
2 James Harden, SG HOU 81 2981 36.8
3 Kyrie Irving, PG CLE 75 2730 36.4

Kyrie actually played the 3rd most minutes per game in the entire NBA last year. Blatt should monitor that more closely this year- especially with a viable bench guy like Mo.

Pretty much because Delly sucked when given the opportunity.. right?
