good call. Yeah. and hes in the hall of fame. and kurt had 3 straight years like that. Then 5 consecutive nothing years. Then a few decent years at the end
I think Kurt got in largely due to his play-off resume, tbh. The guy was lights out in the big games. But yeah, he didn't do much between the big start and the run in Zona.
As for others that had great starts to their career, Marino comes to mind although not quite to this degree.
Now Mahomes is amazing and on a great trajectory but that team will start losing a lot of talent at some point and we will see. As for the HOF, by the time he is eligible, will it really matter? The thing is a running joke now and they will be putting the likes of Eli and probably Rivers in there soon. Hell, the way they are going with the hall, the voters will probably put Jameis Winston in there.
Beyond that, I honestly don't care. The kid might never see another SB, who knows. All of this is just noise for the sake of noise to me.

First thing I thought of was Mike Vick. Defenses had no answers for him early in his career and looked to be on a HOF trajectory... ...then...

...

...let's wait and see what happens...

If Patrick Mahomes retired tomorrow, do you think he should be inducted into the Hall of Fame?

1 MVP award
1 Super Bowl win
1 Super Bowl MVP award

That’s already equal to or greater than the vast majority of NFL quarterbacks, some of whom are already in the Hall.

Patrick Mahomes is a nice young man with an amazing skill set. Let's just enjoy watching his career before retiring him and putting him in the Hall of Fame.

If he does ever make it, I could see Kermit as his presenter......

Bad comparison, imo. Vick couldn't pass for shit.
I'm not comparing Vick and Mahomes as players, I'm saying crazy shit no one expected can happen. Vick's dog fighting scandal definitively derailed his potential HOF trajectory as he was entering the prime of his career.

He is for sure on the right track for it. Several players have started out on an obvious HoF trajectory and missed though. I am confident he ends up in it though.

To be clear his SB MVP is one of those Eli Manning "He is the QB", more than he was actually the most valuable in that game. He will be the actual MVP in the next one that he wins though.

No offense, but you have to be a complete dope with no understanding of the game of football to truly believe that.
Well with such a well thought out counter argument I guess there is no sense carrying on. Have a great day!

Seeing how he was named the Super Bowl MVP when it should have gone to someone else....probably.

Explain your case for whoever you think should have won it and why they were more valuable than Mahomes.

And tell me at the 1:13 remaining mark when the Chiefs were up 4 and virtually in FG range and the 49ers only had 2 timeouts remaining...was your pick the same person?

Not sure about Mahomes but Wentz would get in right now

Let’s review the record:

Approx. 5000 more passing yards
21 more passing TDs
17 more INTs (Wentz gets credit for taking risks and being a gunslinger)
Twice as many 4th quarter comebacks and game winning drives
1 AMVP
Each have 1 Super Bowl win
Wentz has been sacked 84 more times than Mahomes which shows he is tougher
48 fumbles to 12 fumbles, which just shows that Mahomes is a ball hog. Wentz is always willing to give it up.
More rushing yards
More receptions and receiving yards
Has never thrown an INT in the playoffs

If Mahomes gets in, Wentz is a shoe-in.
