I'm not too worried -- Miami had their bye already and STILL have almost given up more rushing yards than the Lions.
That's ok. That's on the old staff. Miami's roster blows away the Lions. Cream always rises to the top.

In no way shape or form do the Falcons have the #1 rated defense. They've given up way too many costly scores, needing to be bailed out in almost every game by their offense.
You can continue to call it the #1 rated defense -- but it is the #1 rated RUSH defense. The 'costly scores' aren't on the rush defense -- it is on one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL.
Per averages isn't the bet.
In no way shape or form does Atlanta have the no.1 rated anything on defense.

Stop acting like giving up scores isn't a big deal.
False.
Falcons pass D has surrendered 7 TDs, tied for 3rd BEST in the NFL.
Falcons rush D has surrendered 10 TDs, tied for WORST in the NFL.
If you are getting gashed by long runs for TD repeatedly -- yes, it is a big deal. If you are giving up 1 and 2 yard runs. No it isn't a big deal.
Miami's roster blows away the Lions.
But that's not the case in Detroit or Atlanta. You guys act like QBs are dropping bombs on the 1 and the Lions have surrendered 10 rush yards all year on 10 scores.
Miami's defense can't even blow away Detroit's backups, who have been anchoring our DL. Imagine how good Detroit would be with a 19 million dollar decoy in the middle of their defense.
Atlanta gives up 300 yards passing a game and 80 yards rushing -- I'm going out on a limb and saying, teams aren't running it up and down the field on them. Just a guess though.
Detroit -- While the overwhelming majority of the rushing TD's are goal line scores -- teams can gash them on the ground or the air. I would still take Detroit's rush defense over Miami's. I'd take Miami's pass rush and pass defense over the Lions.
No reason for me it believe the Lions D would be anything but a top unit again this year w Suh. Dude was the supreme beast here.

They're not running it up and down the field on them, but not because teams can't, but because teams are finding success between the 20's in the air. They're running it down their throats in the red zone.
Maybe it seems that way, but it's untrue.
Lions 2nd worst in NFL giving up runs of 40 yards or more, and tied for 7th worst in giving up runs of 20 yards or more.
Miami has given up 3 runs of 20 yards or more and 1 of 40 or more.
Sounds good.
