You're getting generous with your value assignment, @broncosmitty - not that I agree with you, just a casual observation.
I'm annoyed he's on the team.

Wasted value not moving him imo. Hope he isn't resigned.

Also, never liked the pick. 24 year old rookies aren't my thing.

If the organization had a track record of developing later picks, I'd be more on board. Otherwise, it's like getting an extra serving of gruel, it's more, but it's just more of something you probably don't really want.

As to being 24 when he entered the league, I figured he started playing American football, with its heavy contact, later in life. Less wear and tear? One would thing that a decent DE plays into his 30's, so getting through two contracts was not out of the question.

25 is the average age of retirement I believe.

We just don't resign our late round guys. Willie Young has had more sacks than Ziggy in two of his four seasons. He was 25 as a rookie, but he was the 213th pick not the 5th.

Lions don't resign some top 5 picks Smitty.

Sad part was Willie would of been cheap at the time. I didn't like his run support (may have been wide 9's fault) he is still a good 3rd down specialist.
