No love for the Bears Bobby Douglass eh. Too bad. The list being what it is I went with Randall.
Teir 1
Vick
Cunningham
Tier 2
Newton
Wilson
Young
Tier 3
Tarkenton
McNair
Elway
McNabb
Grogan
For me it is Cam Newton. Yes he doesn't have the big highlight plays like Michael Vick but his ability around the goal line is unmatched in my opinion. He is like an extra goal line RB on the field that is a threat every single play to take it up the middle for the tough yards.
I also put a bigger emphasis on touchdowns than yards as that is the goal is to score and well Cam already owns the record for most rushing TD's and when he is done most likely has destroyed the record. Adding to this of why Cam over Vick is if I remember right Vick's running around led to a decent number of negative plays. Cam is always running up the field for positive gains it seems like. So just the consistency in what he brings on any given play wins out for me.
Cool?Tier 1
Vick
Tier 2
Cunningham
Newton
Tier 3
McNabb
Young
Wilson
Interesting point. He definitely is a lot stronger then Vick and is TREMENDOUS inside the 5. Go look at that game when Vick was in his 30's where the Eagles were down 21 vs the Giants with 7 minutes to go and won. Vick was absolutely incredible.
Believe me it is close between the two. They have very different skill sets when it comes to running. Vick is easily the biggest big play running threat QB of all time. No argument there. Where I see the ability to run being most dangerous though is the ability within the red zone and no QB has been better than Cam when it comes to rushing in the red zone.
I honestly think Tom Brady is the best rushing qb on this list. My criteria for coming to that conclusion might be different than most. The best one, is one who doesn't do it often. This thread got more love than I thought but would for an obvios answer. Everyone that didn't vote Vick was lying
Why would Wilson even be on the OP's list? You just hate Russell Wilson because he is a virgin...
Great comment!!!Vick, not close if by "running" we are talking about advancing the ball down the field (as opposed to scrambling). Cam Newton is getting way too much love in here. The only place on the field where his running is much of a weapon is around the goal line, and that's mainly because of his size. You gotta get the ball down the field first, and Vick was better at that as a runner than anyone I've seen. He could score from anywhere at any time.
Silly me, I thought 850 rushing yards in one season and averaging over 500 per year for a QB was pretty good...Why would Wilson even be on the OP's list?
850 yards is very good for "one" season, but the OP was talking about "The Best Rushing NFL QB of All Time".Silly me, I thought 850 rushing yards in one season and averaging over 500 per year for a QB was pretty good...
How many can boast both of those in NFL history even if adjusted for 12 games per year?
yes and he also has averaged over 500 yards per year. Tarkenton who is considered one of the best never had even 400 yards in a season (less games of course) and averaged 261 yards per year ignoring his last 5 years.850 yards is very good for "one" season, but the OP was talking about "The Best Rushing NFL QB of All Time".

shocked at the low totals of guys like elway and tarkenton
