No they wouldn't.
Sure they would. You are fooling yourself. If Ohio State had just the loss to Iowa but won the conference championship, they would be in over Bama. No question. It was a 2nd loss that kept them out. Playing a tough OOC opponent was high risk low reward.

If Ohio State had 1 loss instead of two they would have gotten the nod over bama. Doesn’t matter if that only loss was to a 7-5 team by 31 points.

People need to relax. Clemson-Bama and Georgia-Oklahoma are awesome matchups. You are talking about 3 teams the committee could have chosen. I'm sorry, UCF simply does not have a good enough defense to play in the playoffs. Any of the four teams in the playoffs would destroy them. All three of the teams the committee had to choose from fucked up and didn't take care of their business at some point in the season. No one to blame but themselves.
This is all true...except one might argue OU's defense can be nonexistent every now and then and look similar to a UCF one.

But, you could also say that the four teams selected also "...fucked up and didn't take care of their business at some point in the season" couldn't you? I mean, Syracuse>Clemson, Iowa State>Oklahoma, Auburn>Georgia and Bama. None shit the bed as bad as tOSU did against Iowa, but they shit the bed none the less. OU, Georgia and Bama's really weren't that bad...but Syracuse didn't win another game after beating Clemson. That one stunk a bunch.

So the committee basically thought that Clemson, OU, Georgia and Bama's only shit in a small part of the bed and it didn't stink too much.

Well you only play a road game every other year with a home and home. Which means every other year you play a game easier than a neutral site.

Yeah sorry we don't schedule away and away series with OCC teams.

I want home and home too, but its financially better for the schools to do a 1 off Neutral site game.

Thats bullshit. Number one , Alabama is not hurting for money. You play mercer at home and Chattanooga or South Texas and How much does Alabama economy make (Hotels , restaurants , TV coverage) with those scrubs every year instead of having an Ohio State a Wisconsin a USC a Texas come play there. Maybe you wouldn't need (not that you do) that neutral game if you played schools who don't need to get trucked in. The reason SEC schedules like they do is because it works. They take the safest way to get teams ranked and with teams like Bama never ( literally never) traveling for OCC games they eliminate any possibility of what happened to Ohio State when they traveled to Oklahoma.

Well Ohio State won their game they went to Oklahoma. Do you mean when they played Oklahoma at home?

both took the chance and one had to lose. I'd hate for these great OCC home and homes to go away in favor of scheduling the local JR college at home for a safe win.

No, we'd be in the playoff if we didn't lose by 31 to your mediocre team. Oklahoma has nothing to do with it.
You can't control your conference schedule . You do however control your OOC

No they wouldn't.
You're wrong and if you think a 12-1 OSU B10 Champ would've been passed over for Bama you're crazy .

No, they wouldn't. A loss to a top team like Oklahoma does not hurt teams unless it had come to a head to head decision between Oklahoma and Ohio St.

A win over Kansas would add nothing but ridicule. And you'll get that proof next year as Alabama has lame ass Duke for OOC.

But what do I know right? I've only completely predicted the top of the playoff rankings week after week for the past month or so.

I sat here week after week and correctly predicted the top teams in the playoff rankings, even while most of you thought otherwise. I told you all there was no chance Ohio St was getting in over Alabama - even before the Wisconsin game was played.

And the reason is because they lost badly to Iowa. Take away that Iowa loss and Ohio St is in easy.

You are NOT punished for losing to top teams.

So why do you pretend like they are all away when you claim they are tougher than neutral sites?

You should watch football before commenting on it.

Had Ohio state beaten Oklahoma, they would easily be in over Bama. A second loss kept them out. How can you not see that. A 1 loss conference champion would get in before a 1 loss team that didn't even win their division. Also, Ohio State would still have a stronger SOS.

Stick around and I'll take your lunch day after day, you better ask somebody.

Had Ohio St beaten Oklahoma? Where is that the conversation? The original claim was that if Ohio St replaced the Oklahoma game with the Kansas, but still lost to Iowa badly, they'd be in.

Yeah, if they had beaten Oklahoma they'd probably be in this year. But that doesn't mean you can replace Oklahoma with Kansas and get the same effect as was claimed.

Yep. High risk low reward by playing a good program OOC. Playing Ohio State did nothing for Oklahoma. They would be in the playoff if they would've played Mercer instead. However if Ohio State would have won, Oklahoma would be on the outside.

If Oklahoma hadn't played OSU there is a good chance OSU would be in today, and Oklahoma would be watching. It was a great move to schedule a high profile game.

They would be tough for the other team. I realize being a Bama fan you don't know about these things called home and home. And just so you know there have been seasons USC travels twice for OCC games (get this) in the same season. I know , mind blowing huh. LOL
