There really isn't much point in scheduling tough OOC anymore. Ultimately you need to lose 1 time or less and win your league ( of you make the title game ). Those really seem to be the only vriteria. We can argue semantics and shit but no 2 loss team has gotten in so scheduling tough OOC is pointless .
Well sure but it's been that way all 4 years so far so no reason to think it will change on a consistent basis . Obviously there will eventually be a 2 loss team make it and there will likely be a team that loses it's CCG and makes it too but it's abundantly clear that SoS isn't as important as it was said to be and neither is league championship . I'm not saying that that's bad or wrong . Just that it's realityDepends on the year. It's kind of amazing how many people don't understand that what you need to do is relative to what others do and that it will vary from year to year.
Yep. High risk low reward by playing a good program OOC. Playing Ohio State did nothing for Oklahoma. They would be in the playoff if they would've played Mercer instead. However if Ohio State would have won, Oklahoma would be on the outside. There really isn't much point in scheduling tough OOC anymore. Yep. For all the talk about the Iowa loss that's not the thing OSU could've fixed they could've played Kansas instead of OU and even if they lost by 31 to Iowa they'd be in. That's just the way it is. As long as this continues you're going to start to see more teams backing out of tough OOC games. It's too badYep. High risk low reward by playing a good program OOC. In 2014 TCU had a better SoS than OSU before the bowls/playoffs. OSU ened at 6 and TCU at 10 even after OSU added Wisky, Bama and Oregon to their SoS.No it hasn't been that way all 4 years. Does the Big12 fiasco ring a bell?

I haven't brought Bama up at all . It's an indictment of the committee and their stated "criteria ", not of Bama. But if Alabama does that, the system must be messed up.
Not that I think your SoS measures are accurate.
He is the only one that votes in favor of 9 games everytime it comes up for a vote. He has also been outspoken About 9 SEC games and P5 only playing P5. Theyre a lot of people to blame for FCS games, but Saban is not 1 of them.SEC will not play 9 conference games until Saban retires. Yes, he has that much power.

Bama schedules 1 tough OOC game every year against a P5 opponent just like everyone else.He is the only one that votes in favor of 9 games everytime it comes up for a vote. 4 best teams is the criteria. Everywhere I look I see Bama in the top4.
Playoffs: Alabama #4
AP: Alabama #4
Coaches: Alabama #4
Mock BCS: Alabama #4
College Football Ranking Composite
Computer Average: Alabama #3
At what point do people just accept that maybe Alabama was a top4 team?

When they get a time machine and win their conference.
