But but but ... can SEC teams still play Mercer and Towsend and Chattanooga and Presbyterian in late November at home? lol
I don't care as much about WHEN the games are played, SEC plays conference games before everyone else.

Everyone else? USC has played a conference game the second game of the year a few times in the past couple years and no later than the third. I just randomly checked and SEC teams usually start conference play on the third game or the fourth game for many.
Still yu can't tell me playing Mercer in late November isn;t a help when most other teams are playing not only conference games but rivals.

It's a help for the next game...playing a patsy for Week 1 also helps as a tune-up. I realize USC is an exception when it comes to scheduling.

Whats funny is
the SEC played 122 games against FBS schools since 2007
The PAC played 65. lol

So your list is laughable. lol

It's almost as if there are more SEC teams than Pac1012 teams.

I saw that they did it, I just don't know how.

Now I see. It was pre-championship game and they played through the first weekend of December.

Right, the PAC moved games back to December for conference visibility which gave them an extra week that the other conferences didn't have because of the Conf Championship games. Is that cowardly scheduling? No. it is smart scheduling. Just like spreading out the easy OOC games instead of having them clustered in August and September. As an aside, I think the BiG should learn from this. Some folks insist that OSU and UM be in the same division to avoid back to back OSU/UM games. If the BiG moved one (or two) of their OOC games to the end of the season, then the OSU/UM would still be the last CONF game of the season and any rematch would be two or three weeks later. With games in between, rematches aren't that bad. The same could be said for the Big 12. The ACC and SEC have their BIG inter-conference games (FSU/UF, GT/UGa, Clemson/USC) AFTER the Conference games are over.

Those games though are locked games, Michigan and Ohio State do not have an OOC game that they play every year. What I would like to see would be the B1G go back to 8 conference games, require two P5 opponents. In conference do away with divisions, have three locked "rival" opponents and then two pools of five that rotate every other year. That would give Michigan; Ohio State, Michigan State, and Minnesota every year and the other ten teams split in half. Odd years Nebraska, Rutgers, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Iowa. Even years Illinois, Northwestern, Maryland, Purdue, and Penn State. And before Michigan fans get pisses, I want two of the teams to be tougher and one easier for the top teams, which is why it's not Penn State, Nebraska, or Wisconsin over Minnesota.

But think about this, after the last conference games but before the Conf Champ Game, the BiG plays these H and H.
Indiana/Kentucky
Iowa/Iowa State
NWU/Vandy
Illinois/Mizzou
PSU/Pitt
Rutgers/Syracuse
OSU/Miami
Nebraska/OU
Maryland/WVU
UM/Tenn (ND?)
Wisc/LSU
MSU/VT
Minn/Ark
Purdue?

Outside Pitt/PSU I think you are going to be hard pressed to find anyone to want to be annual rivals. Big10, Big12, and PAC12 play 9 conference games which would essentially lock them from playing any other teams because not many teams are going to want 11 P5 teams on their scehdule on regular basis. I'm not opposed to those games being played late but no one is going to want to lock themselves out of playing any other P5 teams.

Yes, and for the 100th time, the bowl selections are based on all 12 games and NOT just 3!!!
They are having a tough time getting all bowl games filled with 6 win teams. So yes those OOC cupcakes are YUUUUUUUUUUUUGE!!!!!!!!! Win 6 games=bowl game. Everyone knows this

Also with the extra FCS win each year it raises the win totals for all SEC teams. We are talking about OOC, so please stay on the topic.
