It doesn't matter whether it's a proper way to select a strength of schedule, that is not what they were discussing. It's the same when you and TrustMe were discussing what happened with Michigan State in the 90's. TrustMe then throws out a Rose Bowl game from the 80's. They were discussing OOC away games and then Gator throws in conference games that have nothing to do with anything they are discussing.

Doesn't seem to be a problem when people quote 3 games of the year as a means of calling the entire schedule "pussy scheduling".

Pretty sure everyone called Washington's schedule pussy because of who they played out of conference. It's not just happening to the SEC teams. But again, if you are discussing OOC games, in conference games don't matter. If you are talking about football championships, basketball championships don't matter.

So you constantly talk about how USC plays ND, but it doesn't count that Florida plays Florida St every year because they play all the time?

Can't make this shit up.

You idiot I excluded ND from my list while Florida fan put in Florida State since without them they would have played 2 away OCC games since 2000. Cant dumb down things enough for stupid people I guess.

Are you really this dumb? You have a conference schedule. It's not something you choose. You don't get points for playing them, you have to. Then you have the OCC games you pick. When you only play Mercers and Chattanoogas and never go play any decent OCC schools at their house. It's pussy scheduling.

The thread topic was actually toughest schedules and there are just a few people who want to focus in on the OOC schedule(and not even the entire OOC usually) as a way of dismissing the entire schedule as "pussy" despite the rankings showing otherwise.

Beyond that, the claim was that Florida doesn't travel for away games. They do. Personally, I've always found the "Florida doesn't travel" crap to be stupid since they have so much in state competition. Quality teams don't suddenly become less quality based on distance. It's ignorant.

But no, we have to cherry pick a small part of the schedule. Cry that Florida has only traveled this many times, with the remaining 25% of the schedule. It's important that we skew the conversation that way, but god forbid anyone bring up the rest of the schedule.

Why doesn't Florida St play 8 SEC teams every year?

Because they didn't want the competition and choose not to join - that's per Bobby Bowden.

So yes, Florida does, in fact, choose to be in the SEC and you do get "points" for them. Just like Boise St didn't get credit for playing only 1 tough game all year.

It's a 12 game schedule and all 12 games count the same. What changes how much they count is the quality of the opponent, without regard to stupid labels like "conference" and "P5" and without regard to "distance traveled" and all this other bullshit that has no real effect on schedule difficulty.

But still you'll cry and cry and cry.

Complete bullshit. So I'm supposed to give Vanderbilt and Miss State and Kentucky and Georgia and Missouri and every other team in the SEC who hasn't done shit other than be easy games for the better SEC teams props over Florida State? LOL. You're nut swinging is epic.
The topic was OCC games your school schedules and how many are trash home games (the entire SEC) and how many real OCC away games teams schedule.
I put a list of the OCC teams USC had home and homes with and there were plenty of good teams.
I also put a list of OCC teams Florida had home and homes with .
I excluded Notre dame and Florida State because they play them every year.
Its not my fault Florida just had one OCC team since 2000 (miami) that it played twice and thats it. Pussy OCC scheduling.Plane and simple.

NO the original topic was and still is "
Steele's 2017 Toughest Schedule Rankings - ESPN Insidera"

It includes ALL games on the schedule. The problem is IDIOTS like you who want to diminish schedules by focusing on 3 or 4 games (25-33%) on the schedule. Then insist on removing some of those games because they don't fit your narrative. So what's next, are you going to reduce UF's OOC scedule down to just 1 game per and decide on SOS based on the 1 FCS opponent? I'm pretty sure that's were you're heading.

One last try. You say UF doesn't travel? You have NO idea what you are talking about. How about if we compare USC ENTIRE schedule vs UF's AWAY and NEUTRAL SITE games ONLY (that is let's remove ALL games played in Gainesville) over the span YOU chose 2000-2016? USC played 220 games total from 2000-2016 and UF played 110 games outside of Gainesville.
FYI that means that USC played TWICE as many teams as UF played.

USC's entire schedule
USC 220 games: 31 T10: 65 Yr Rnk: 200 P5: 0 FCS: 122 teams w/ D1A win recds: and 122 Bowl Teams.

UF's away and neutral site games only.
Florida 110 games: 35 T10: 61 Yr Rnk: 109 P5: 0 FCS: 82 teams w/ D1A win recds: and 88 Bowl Teams.

OMG. Jon you are like one of those little shit dogs that contributes nothing to life but goes around nipping at other people's ankles! It's time to shut you up.

You ARE aware aren't you, Jon, that the 9 conference game schedule is nothing new. The PAC went to it in 2006 (11 years ago).

Here are the OOC games for 2 PAC teams from 2006-2010 (5 seasons) when the PAC first had 9 conference games.
Oregon St. 16 games: 6 T10: 7 Yr Rnk: 4 P5: 3 FCS: 10 teams w/ D1A win recds: 11 Bowl Teams
Washington 16 games: 2 T10: 7 Yr Rnk: 9 P5: 0 FCS: 13 teams w/ D1A win recds: 13 Bowl Teams

But, things have changed recently in the PAC.
Here are the OOC games for all 14 SEC teams PLUS Washington and Oregon State for the years 2012-2016 (5 most recent seasons).

Team A: 1 T10: 3Yr Rnk: 5 P5: 5 FCS: 9 teams w/ D1A win recds: 9 Bowl Teams
Team B: 0 T10: 0 Yr Rank: 3 P5: 6 FCS: 5 teams w/ D1A win recds: 6 Bowl Teams
Team C: 1 T10: 3 Yr Rank: 5 P5: 4 FCS: 5 teams w/ D1A win recds: 5 Bowl Teams
Team D: 1 T10: 3 Yr Rank: 5 P5: 5 FCS: 8 teams w/ D1A win recds: 10 Bowl Teams
Team E: 0 T10: 1 Yr Rank: 4 P5: 5 FCS: 5 teams w/ D1A win recds: 7 Bowl Teams
Team F: 2 T10: 3 Yr Rank: 5 P5: 5 FCS: 11 teams w/ D1A win recds: 10 Bowl Teams
Team G: 1 T10: 4 Yr Rank: 3 P5: 5 FCS: 8 teams w/ D1A win recds: 8 Bowl Teams
Team H: 2 T10: 3 Yr Rank: 8 P5: 5 FCS: 8 teams w/ D1A win recds: 10 Bowl Teams
Team I: 0 T10: 1 Yr Rank: 1 P5: 5 FCS: 6 teams w/ D1A win recds: 6 Bowl Teams
Team J: 4 T10: 7 Yr Rank: 8 P5: 5 FCS: 10 teams w/ D1A win recds: 11 Bowl Teams
Team K: 0 T10: 1 Yr Rank: 5 P5: 5 FCS: 12 teams w/ D1A win recds: 12 Bowl Teams
Team L: 0 T10: 0 Yr Rank: 5 P5: 5 FCS: 7 teams w/ D1A win recds: 10 Bowl Teams
Team M: 1 T10: 3 Yr Rank: 4 P5: 5 FCS: 7 teams w/ D1A win recds: 7 Bowl Teams
Team N: 0 T10: 1 Yr Rank: 3 P5: 5 FCS: 7 teams w/ D1A win recds: 8 Bowl Teams

Team P: 0 T10: 4 Yr Rank: 5 P5: 5 FCS: 9 teams w/ D1A win recds: 8 Bowl Teams

Compare these to the previous list for 2006-2010. As anyone can tell things HAVE changed in the PAC. Of course, Jon, will have NO PROBLEM telling which of the above are the cowardly SEC teams and which are the MANLY PAC teams.

Alabama: 20 games: 1 T10: 3Yr Rnk: 5 P5: 5 FCS: 9 teams w/ D1A win recds: 9 Bowl Teams

What about the rest of the pac? Everyone knows Washington has scheduled shit OOC for years now, and we are sick of it. Weak ass scheduling almost cost us a shot at the playoffs. Also for 100th time, an extra cupcake win each year=more bowl eligible teams. How hard is it to understand? Maybe people like watching non competitive home games, however I want more bang for my buck.

Losing to USC almost cost you a shot at the playoffs. If you had scheduled another tough team on top of USC, you probably would have missed the playoffs.

Yes, and for the 100th time, the bowl selections are based on all 12 games and NOT just 3!!!

Instead of mandating 9 game conference schedules, let's just have everyone in a P5 conference forced to play 10 games against P5 competition (+ nd, byu, maybe service academies). Some conferences will prefer 8+2, others will prefer 9+1, either way it will balance the totality of the schedules across conferences.

Yes, and for the 100th time, the bowl selections are based on all 12 games and NOT just 3!!!

Whats funny is
the SEC played 122 games against FBS schools since 2007
The PAC played 65. lol

So your list is laughable. lol

But but but ... can SEC teams still play Mercer and Towsend and Chattanooga and Presbyterian in late November at home? lol

Wish we had played Mercer and Morehead State last year instead of Ohio State and Houston.
Just sayin'
