LOL. Mostly untrue? Yeah it was a day at Disney for blacks in Alabama back then. What a dumb shit. lol

I'm well aware of the history, but if you think it was the USC football game that changed things, then you are listening to a good story rather than what really happened. The first black player to join the team happened in 1967 with a few walk-ons. Everything had already been set in motion.

Also, even the first black guy they put on scholarship wasn't even the first black guy offered.

And in general, Bear didn't pay much attention to it all anyway. There was a time when they didn't even want the team playing teams that were segregated and Bear was like - fuck that and played them anyway.

First of all , fuck the past 81 seasons. You do that to di nlute the truth. You gave me your list some time back and I found you haven't played any of those teams at their house in the past three decades. So now you bring out "in the past 81 seasons. lol. So i'm supposed to be imressed with what Florida did in 1944? lol.
The truth is while Ive been a fan USC ( since Robinsons first year) has gone to many tough OCC houses to play. If we just go back to 2000 till now USC has gone to many P5 teams for home and homes. Florida? Nothing that resembles having any balls. Its home OCC games against LA tech and Charleston southern type teams and lately a neutral game . You take away Notre dame from USC schedule and Florida State because they always play them they still schedule other P5 programs in home and homes like Texas this year and next.
Florida? Well if it wan't for playing Miami (wow you went so far.lol) once around 2007 and another time around 2003 , Florida since 2002 has NO OTHER away games against any other team not in the SEC. None, nada. No wonder you want skip anything from 2000 till now and go back to 1945. lol

You are such a douche. You keep bringing up stuff that is total crap, over and over. Your team is not the greatest thing since sliced bread except in your mind. Get over it. USC plays in a crappy football state and a crappy conference compared to Florida.

Let's take YOUR NEW time frame, 2000-2016.

First, let's look at the states.
California has the largest state population, has 4 P5 teams (Cal, Stanford, UCLA, and USC). USC plays the other P5 teams every year. Florida has the 3rd largest state population, has 3 P5 teams (UF, FSU, and Miami). UF plays FSU every year and Miami once in a blue-moon.

From 2000-2015 USC played AWAY games vs California teams 26 times (Cal 8x, UCLA 9x, and Stanford 9x).
USC did not play anyone else in the state of California AWAY. Of those 26 teams only 16 went to bowls (which means that 10 teams had less than 6 wins). Of the 16 teams that went to bowls only 5 were year ranked (19.2% of the total) and only 3 were year top 10 (11.5% of the total).

From 2000-2015 UF played AWAY games vs Florida teams 11 times (FSU 9x and Miami 2x). UF also played Georgia in JAX 17x. UF did not play anyone else in the state of Florida AWAY. Of those 11 teams from Florida all 11 went to bowls. Of the 11 teams that went to bowls 9 were year ranked (81.8% of the total) and 5 were year top 10 (45.5% of the total). IF we include UGa games (they were played IN Florida and NOT in Gainesville) then UF has played teams in Florida 28 times (FSU 9x, Miami 2x, and UGa 17x). Of those 28 teams from Florida 27 went to bowls . Of the 27 teams that went to bowls 23 were year ranked (82.1% of the total) and 12 were year top 10 (42.9% of the total).

Now, let's look at the conferences.
From 2000-2015 USC played conference teams 74 times all AWAY. USC did not play any conference teams at neutral sites. Of those 74 teams only 44 went to bowls (which means that 30 teams had less than 6 wins). Of the 44 teams that went to bowls only 22 were year ranked (29.7% of the total) and only 8 were year top 10 (10.8% of the total).

From 2000-2015 UF played conference teams 50 times AWAY. UF also conference teams at neutral sites 17x.
Of those 50 AWAY teams 38 went to bowls (which means that 12 teams had less than 6 wins). Of the 38 teams that went to bowls 23 were year ranked (46.0% of the total) and 13 were year top 10 (26.0% of the total). IF we include UGa games (they were played IN Florida and NOT in Gainesville) then UF has played 77 teams NOT in Gainesville ("away"). Of those 77 teams 51 went to bowls . Of the 51 teams that went to bowls 35 were year ranked (45.5 of the total) and 20 were year top 10 (26.0% of the total).

Finally, let's look at all "away" games.
From 2000-2015 USC played 95 games AWAY. Of those 95 teams only 55 went to bowls (which means that 40 teams had less than 6 wins). Of the 55 teams that went to bowls 29 were year ranked (30.5% of the total) and 11 were year top 10 (11.6% of the total). USC played 4 games at neutral site. If we include these 4 games then there are 99 games. Of those 99 teams only 58 went to bowls (which means that 41 teams had less than 6 wins). Of the 58 teams that went to bowls 31 were year ranked (31.3% of the total) and only 13 were year top 10 (13.1% of the total).

From 2000-2015 UF played 71 games AWAY. Of those 71 teams 49 went to bowls (which means that 22 teams had less than 6 wins). Of the 49 teams that went to bowls 32 were year ranked (45.1% of the total) and 18 were year top 10 (25.4% of the total). UF also played 17 games at neutral sites. If we include those 17 games then there are 88 games. Of those 88 teams 66 went to bowls (which means that 22 teams had less than 6 wins). Of the 66 teams that went to bowls 44 were year ranked (50.0% of the total) and 25 were year top 10 (28.4% of the total).

Please note that UF has played MORE ranked teams IN the state of Florida (23) than USC has played ANYWHERE in the PAC conference (22).

What is really funny is that you bitch about UF not having the balls to play good teams away and how UF doesn't travel. What is all the traveling getting USC? IF we include just ONE of UF's opponents outside the state of Florida then UF has played more "ballsy" teams than USC has by traveling all over the country. Again ONE team!!! That's all it takes to beat USC's schedule. IF we combine the games at LSU (9x) with the 28 games IN Florida we get 37 total games (FSU 9x, Miami 2x, UGa 17x and LSU 9x). Of those 37 teams 36 went to bowls. Of the 36 teams that went to bowls 32 were year ranked (86.5% of the total) and 21 were year top 10 (56.8% of the total).

For comparison:
UF: 37 games vs FSU, Miami, UGa and LSU and 36 of them went to bowls. Of the 36 teams that went to bowls 32 were year ranked (86.5% of the total) and 21 were year top 10 (56.8% of the total).
USC: 99 games vs THE WORLD and only 58 of those teams went to bowls. Of the 58 teams that went to bowls 31 were year ranked (31.3% of the total) and only 13 were year top 10 (13.1% of the total). So, yes, USC does travel a lot to play teams. The problem is they are selective. They will travel across the world to play a 1-10 Hawaii.

Really? Well that was a lot of smoke. Here's the truth about OCC away game. These are the road games USC scheduled against OCC teams not named Notre Dame since 2000,
Ohio State, Virginia, Arkansas, Boston College, Auburn, Penn State, Kansas State, Hawaii,Nebraska, Hawaii and Minnesota, Syracuse at Giants stadium, Hawaii and played ND away in the same season, Alabama in Arlington and this season Texas.
So every time (3) in the last 17 years USC played at Hawaii they also had another road OCC game. Thats two in a year. And all these teams also played @ USC the year before or after except for Bama who also doesn't play road OCC games . Compare that to Florida just playing OCC home games against Charlston and Southern Carolina type teams.

Florida away OCC games not being Florida State (your ND) since 2000.
Miami- Miami

Well that was short and to the point and pathetic. Pussy OCC scheduling at it's finest.

There you go again -- playing the name game. Throw up a smoke screen of names to wow people rather than tell the truth.

BTW, your list is incomplete. Here is the complete list

Alabama in Arlington (14-1-0, T10), Ohio St. (11-2-0, T10), Kansas St. (11-2-0, T10), Virginia Tech at Landover (10-3-0, T10), and Notre Dame (9-3-0, T10).

Arkansas (10-4-0, Yr Ranked), Notre Dame (10-3-0, Yr Ranked), Colorado (9-5-0, Yr Ranked), Notre Dame (9-4-0, Yr Ranked)

PLUS
Hawaii (10-4-0, Unranked), Notre Dame (8-5-0, Unranked), Syracuse at Giants Stadium (8-5-0, Unranked), Auburn (8-5-0, Unranked), Boston College (7-6-0, Unranked),

ALSO
Notre Dame (6-6-0, Unranked), BYU (5-6-0, Unranked), Notre Dame (5-7-0, Unranked), Virginia (5-7-0, Unranked), Penn St. at Giants Stadium (5-7-0, Unranked), Nebraska (5-7-0, Unranked), Hawaii (5-7-0, Unranked), Notre Dame (5-6-0, Unranked), Minnesota (3-9-0, Unranked), Notre Dame (3-9-0, Unranked), and Hawaii (1-11-0, Unranked).

So, in summary, USC played 25 opponents away and at neutral site:
5 T10
9 Year Ranked
5 unranked but had winning records and went to Bowls (including Hawaii!!)
11 unranked and NO bowl games.

Here's UF opponents all away.
Florida St. (13-1-0, T10)
Florida St. (12-2-0, T10)
Miami (FL) (11-2-0, T10)
Florida St. (11-2-0, T10)
Florida St. (10-3-0, T10)
Florida St. (9-3-0, Yr Ranked)
Florida St. (9-4-0, Yr Ranked)
Florida St. (10-4-0, Yr Ranked)
Florida St. (9-5-0, Yr Ranked)
Miami (FL) (9-4-0, Unranked)
Florida St. (7-6-0, Unranked)

So, in contrast, UF played 11 opponents all away:
5 T10
9 Year Ranked
2 unranked but had winning records and went to Bowls
0 unranked and NO bowl games.

Notice what is missing from UF's schedule? All the crappy teams that are 0.500 or below (and Hawaii- vacation time). This is exactly what I told you yesterday!

Now, how about you growing a pair and look at ALL regular season AWAY and NEUTRAL SITE games?????

USC plays both P5 and G5 teams away and at neutral sites. UF ONLY plays P5 teams away and at neutral sites.
For ALL games USC has played;
USC
99 games
95 P5 and 4 G5
13 T10
31 Year Ranked
22 unranked and went to Bowls
41 unranked and NO Bowl games.

UF JUST "IN-conference" games.
77 games
77 P5 (18 LESS than USC)
20 T10 (7 MORE than USC)
35 Tear Ranked (4 MORE than USC)
20 unranked and went to Bowls (2 LESS than USC)
22 unranked and NO Bowl games (19 LESS than USC)

Including ALL games (adding the 11 OOC games above)
88 games (11 LESS than USC--- the 11 OOC games vs loser teams on the road that UF DOESN'T play!!!)
88 P5 (7 LESS than USC)
25 T10 (12 MORE than USC)
44 Year Ranked (12 MORE than USC)
22 unranked and went to Bowls (Same as USC)
22 unranked and NO Bowl games (19 LESS than USC) STOP traveling to play SHITTY teams!

For ALL games USC has played;
USC
99 games
95 P5 and 4 G5
13 T10
31 Year Ranked
22 unranked and went to Bowls
41 unranked and NO Bowl games.

UF JUST "IN-conference" games.
77 games
77 P5
20 T10
35 Tear Ranked
20 unranked and went to Bowls
22 unranked and NO Bowl games

Including ALL games (adding the 11 OOC games above)
88 games (11 LESS than USC--- the 11 OOC games vs loser teams on the road that UF DOESN'T play!!!)
88 P5 (7 LESS than USC)
25 T10 (12 MORE than USC)
44 Year Ranked (12 MORE than USC)
22 unranked and went to Bowls (Same as USC)
22 unranked and NO Bowl games (19 LESS than USC) STOP traveling to play SHITTY teams!
Why do you keep adding conference away games, you know the ones that Florida can't avoid, when it has literally nothing to do with the conversation. Talk about smoke screens.

Why shouldn't they count?

Why is it a big deal when another conference plays a SEC team, but not a big deal when SEC teams play SEC teams?

Is it for some reason easier for a SEC team to play @ LSU than it is for everyone else?

When I did my rankings, I looked at home and away and conference surely didn't matter. Every team playing @ LSU got the same credit for it.

Saying Florida can't avoid them isn't really accurate. The choose to be in the conference, which is basically to say they agree every year to have those games scheduled. People are just falsely diminishing the game because they play it every year.

I don't think Michigan St vs Michigan is somehow less meaningful because it's a conference game.

Then again, the notion that teams are trying to avoid each other isn't something I really think happens. It's a matter of risk vs reward, but dodging certain teams I don't think happened. More like not wanting to load up an extra difficult schedule in something that won't give any extra reward. I don't think any AD/Coach gets hired to purposely hurt their teams/programs.

Because the discussion was about non conference games . It would be like discussing college football championships and I start talking about Michigan State's basketball championship. I mean m, championships are championships, it shouldn't matter what sport they are in.

You played two teams away in OCC since 2000. Florida State who you play no matter what (Just like USC plays ND) and Miami twice. LOL. Thats pussy scheduling. The rest of your list is worthless. Amusing you took the time to do it but worthless. The topic is OCC road games. Its funny how nowhere on USCs list you mention that they played a home and homes with Auburn who was ranked in the top three at the time (both games) and Ohio State who was also ranked in the top five at the time. But i guess that doesn't help you.

Congratulations you just wrote the stupidest answer of the year.

The conference homer is strong in this one.

I'm surprised these two don't include spring games in their phony lists . They choose to play them and have won them all and they can be home and away at the same time.

Narrowing it down to only non conference games is just a way of ignoring true schedule strength to start with.

Can't make this shit up.

It doesn't matter whether it's a proper way to select a strength of schedule, that is not what they were discussing. It's the same when you and TrustMe were discussing what happened with Michigan State in the 90's. TrustMe then throws out a Rose Bowl game from the 80's. They were discussing OOC away games and then Gator throws in conference games that have nothing to do with anything they are discussing.
