astros have called up carlos correa. if you dont know who he is, stop watching baseball.

Saw a headline this morning that they are also bringing up their top pitching prospect. Surprised me that McCullers isn't their top pitching prospect, since he's been pretty good in his several starts since coming up a few weeks ago.

Tru dat. Hated losing Shump though, but he could just never seem to stay healthy.

Shumpert must have thought he was supposed to take up the slack for Irving last night.

There might be bigger surprises this season, but how is Mike Pelfrey pitching like he's pitched so far this year. Seems so unlikely that a nine year vet just out of the blue finally "gets it".

At least no one can say he learned how to juice up whilst on the Mets

Just looked at his numbers and see that he actually did have a couple of decent seasons for the Mets. Other than that, he has been below average most of his career. Pretty unusual for a guy with that history to pitch as well as he has this season.

a decent offense and solid defense does wonders for many mediocre pitchers....

Played a great game. He's white and Italian

But imagine the talk today if Lebron ever had a game like the MVP last night

LBJ went 11 for 35 shooting last night...yes, he did draw a bunch of fouls, grab a bunch of boards, and get a bunch of assists. Just can't see it as a truly great game when he was shooting about 30%. Can't stand it when a guy takes a zillion shots, makes 1/3 or less of them, and everybody craps their pants over how many points he scored.
He got lucky that Curry shot even worse than him!

a sweep

i dont care if its vs the worst tea in baseball not named boston, its a sweep.

what a nice comeback in the 8th

I think the Red Sox would be a playoff team...if they played Oakland 162 times/year.

Perhaps you are right, but it's not as if he now plays for the '27 Yankees. He is a Twin! Career ERA of 4.42 and WHIP of 1.47, those numbers this year are 2.28 and 1.22.

this is why the nba sucks

LeBron James takes the basketball for a walk in a blatant-looking uncalled travel - SBNation.com

That's not the only reason! I can't even pretend to care. I had a convo with a friend last night and realized that I've never seen Kyrie Irving, Steph Curry or Anthony Davis play as pros(I've seen all 3 play in college).

I voted for Alcides Escobar for the all-star game this year. Yeah, there's not much at shortstop in the American league at all right now. I probably would say that Carlos Correa for the Astros is most likely to get my vote next season, but it's still very early to make that prediction. Maybe Bogaerts has a better chance? There's not much at all to choose from.

Change of scenery?
And I remember reading somewhere he altered his mechanics with the help of his pitching coach....so there's also that. But sometimes for whatever unexplained reason, the light just suddenly turns on for certain people.
It also happens in football too w/ some QB's.

If you like basketball, those three are still worth watching, in my opinion, regardless of whether you prefer the college game to NBA.

I loved his 100% air three pointer in Game 1...don't think he even had a hand in his face on that one.
Larry Bird probably barfed and then cracked up.
As great as he is, I still see LBJ as a guy who tries to overpower the game more than as a true master of it.
