BR472's top- 3 reasons why we know Solich was getting some on the side

3) Osborne never gave him his job back when he became AD. Certainly his speaking out against it when he was fired was nothing in support of him.

2) He left Southeast to take a job at Nebraska. Certainly no one would ever make such a move unless they were gonna get busted for having some on the side.

1) And the number one reason we can know he was getting some on the side? He had a house in Omaha!!!!!

Hell, when he coached at Holy Name in Omaha he lived at my grandma's house right across the street. Maybe my grandma and my aunts were giving it up for him as well.

Hey Blkflagmafia, there is a simple solution to your problem. Don't read the thread anymore. It truly is not that difficult.

True but I am having fun with it. You apparently are not.

There are countless threads in here that I never even touch because I just don't care. I don't go on every stupid recruiting thread and ask people to kill the thread and all that. Talk about whatever you want where ever you want. If you don't want to see it then don't look at it.

Hey Tommieboy, why no response to why To didn't rehire Solich? No response. Got it.

But let's take a real look at that "great" Colorado team of 2001. The last game they played was against the #2 ranked team and got blown out much like Nebraska did with Miami. And you all want to way that this Colorado team was that great?

Here's the pattern. Nebraska got blown out twice in 2001. In 2002 not much better--two blowouts by the Oklahoma State game and Oklahoma State I believe was 2-4 and we lost that one as well--followed by a couple of more blowouts.

2003? Three blowouts in the year Frank hired Barney Cotton as OC? I mean really? I never liked Pederson for the very reasons that my "souces" weren't happy with Solich. Pederson was an ass but he stuck by his word when he said he wouldn't allow Nebrasks to become second rate. Unfortunately he didn't have the personality to hire the right coach. Callahan was a desperate hire, because eveyone within our program was freely admitting to anyone that would ask that Pederson was a dick.

This does not address nor has anyone addressed why TO made no effort to rehire Solich. It couldn't have been because of the buyout of Franks contract @ Ohio. Hell that was worth all of $3.98. And yet all of you continue to support FS when in fact his "regime" was the begiining of a very bad pattern--we still don't win big games. Mock me all you want, but show some balls and refute what I've said. Can't do it? Then you have really no idea of what Husker football is all about. hell, stay with Pelini, he hasn't won many big games either. Oh wit he has 9- 10 victories a year.

Duh.....

Frank Solich was only sorta liked here......plain and simple. Maybe 15% of Husker Nation was upset that Solich was fired. Many questioned it, but not a ton of people were truely upset.

Rehiring Solich wasn't going to put butts in the seats. Hiring Pelini was going to. He was the popular choice. Now, don't take me the wrong way......we would sell out no matter who the Head Coach is.......but tickets were gonna be of higher demand with Pelini as coach.

Tom Osborne is a smart man. He knows that winning is important, but that ultimately revenue is what keeps the program at the top. This is Nebraska. People pay for the hype.

Sorry to be so blunt, my dear Husker fans........

But it is what it is. Pelini was hired in large part due to the fact that people wanted him hired. I was one of those people, and I still believe he is going to lead us to the promised land.

Jesus this old guy just keeps getting dumber and more senile.

Osborne didn't hire Solich back because he values continuity and wanted a younger coach that would be here for decades like he was. Solich was not going to coach for decades. I am not a fan of Osborne's outside of him being a coach but he knew in this day and age of college football at a big time program then unless you were going to get one of the elite of the elites then you had to go younger to be able to relate to the younger players. You can be an idiot and believe he didn't rehire Solich for your cockamamie reasons but you should really ask the nurses at your retirement home to up your doses of reality.

Oh and thank you for avoiding everything that I say. Just like like you claim about me. And make sure that every time you get proven wrong, which has been a LOT in this thread, make sure you change the subject. You are good at that.

Not to mention the search resulted in it coming down to Turner Gill and Bo. Bo won out because of his defensive pedigree and the state that the defense was in at the time..... By my recollection the intent was to hire a 'defense first' coach from the onset of the search.
Does no one else remember it that way?
