You have no Idea if Herman knew and ignored it. He was long done by the time this came to its zenith. Meyer lied which simply added another layer to his reputation. Just because a person thinks Meyer is a scumbag, that doesn’t mean they are wrong or biased.

You can’t say Herman didn’t know. He declined to comment on his complete knowledge of the Smiths relationship. When asked in the press conference. Okay cool, Smith is innocent and his ex wife is just crazy, why did Urban lie? Seems like a strange thing to lie about. He could have said, no comment. He could have said, we've investigated the situation and feel Smith has done nothing to warrant discipline. But no, he denied knowing anything about the situation and that it was a made up story. Ignore the names and situation and look at the behavior, what would you normally assume? An attempted coverup maybe?

This is actually why I don’t think we can or should hold Urban accountable it’s all assumption. The only things we really know.

The Smiths has what looks like an abusive and chaotic relationship. The full nature of that relationship may never be known. We can speculate “police reports”. Whether there was a cover up or whether Courtney Smith dropped charges. Toxic relationships are generally complicated by nature. So it’s hard to say Urban or anyone outside the Smiths themselves know the full story.

We know McMurphy has edited his story repeatedly as facts are released. Rather than publishing a retraction on his page. Seems to be making this a bit personal through his actions including his header. Failed to provide any actual facts including the text. That he or Courtney could have duped. There’s no time stamp, number, or logs. And there could have been texts deleted. We don’t know either way so that’s more assumption.And we know he got paid not just by ESPN. But with a new job with World Stadium.

I get people gate Meyers hell I never liked him. But with what we know now. There’s no way I could say he knew . Definitely not the full story behind the Smiths. Who both appear to be a giant mess. Nor do I think people should make that call based on the reports of a social media reporter who lost his job with money involved. That’s already changed his story. That’s why we have police and investigations imo.

Opinion I don’t think Meyer or Herman knew as much as some may want to believe. This is a story that spiraled in social because of name brand. And Social journalism needs some for of regulations when money is involved. So this doesn’t become the norm.

Again by your standard McMurphy and Meyer both changed their stories. Meyers and Herman both denied knowing in press conferences.. What we have is basically nothing more than speculation based on a story that was changed by the reporter repeatedly. And a lot of assumptions regarding a very chaotic relationship.

Yeah, so about this. The initial report an officer makes on a high profile case will probably get sent back for corrections from supervisors multiple times before approval. And it still might have errors come court time they missed. We are talking 10-15 pages of data and written testimony without a professional editor to be found in a police department. And the report is usually written at the end of a 10-12 hour shift when you are dead ass tired.

Yes...police are human beings and make mistakes.

McMurphy has never changed his story, that is pure BS. Changing a line or 2 is not changing the story. Saying you lied and the exact opposite is true is changing your story. I don’t have speculation, I have Meyer’s own words

It's not hatred for Urban Meyer, I think he's an outstanding coach and thoroughly enjoy watching his teams play. I don't hate Nick Saban either, I respect greatness. They are both great and it's a lot of fun to watch their teams play. Ohio St is not a rival of Texas. Ohio St only occasionally comes into Texas to recruit. There is zero reason for me to dislike Ohio St anymore than any other college football team.

And I have no idea why you are playing the "we don't know" game. We know plenty, only you guys are getting off into the weeds about minute details. That really don't matter.

Here are the things we know are all facts.

Smith was arrested in 2009 for aggravated battery of a pregnant woman. Victim dropped the charges.

In 2015 the police were called a couple times and nobody went to jail.

They divorced in 2016.

In late 2017 a criminal trespass warning was issued to Smith.

In May of 2018, he violated that warning.

He is fired in July of 2018.

So, when Urban got up in front of the media, he denied knowing anything but the 2009 stuff. Then his statement turned around and said he was caught off guard by the question and pushed all this stuff up the chain of command.

Everything I stated is a fact and we know plenty. All the text messages and accusations don't really mean anything. In this day and age, the facts alone would doom a lesser coach without a doubt. It is what it is, Ohio St will do what they want to do.
