Well, with brain cancer, I'm sure he's just happy to still be alive.
Quit distracting me.....I'm in the Cavs-C's thread now.
This thread is yesterday's news.
Well, with brain cancer, I'm sure he's just happy to still be alive.
At the end of the day the Lakers ended up keeping the pick for two additional seasons and ended up with Ingram and Lonzo in the process.
I doubt there's a single Lakers fan upset about how this went down.
Yep.
I agree with @Shaqdaddy11 point about the Lakers improvement.
At least it made the pick a little worse.
Philly will still get a good player if they keep it.
But, I'd rather they get a good player over a possibly great one , if it were my Team too.
It was worth a gamble at the time. Something the majority of the league would have done.
But the timing worked out just fine. For years they didn't have the cap space but got lucky enough in the lottery to improve with a young player or two. This year they don't have a lottery pick but they DO have cap room.
And hey, we didn't have to witness a 10-72 season to get where we are now...
He's big enough at 6'8.
But, he projects as a guard.
He's a much bigger matchup problem at the 1 or 2.
You've convinced me. It was a great move by the Lakers! You couldn't have really used that pick next season and now you have CAP ROOM!!
Yeah. That 17-65 season must have been a joy to watch.
Yeah, good point.Well the truth of the matter is that had the pick been #3 or #4 this year it would have gone to the Celtics so, yeah, you aren't going to find many Sixer fans that are upset about getting #10. Sure getting the No. 1 pick would have been great but that would have been really lucky.
Things worked out well for you guys. Not to mention, where are they now? They still suck. Maybe they won’t if they land some free agents.
A more appropriate response than Shaq's blinder homerism. But that is to be expected.
I guess the 50+ wins and playoff series win don’t mean that much to you....
Not to mention, where are they now? They still suck. Maybe they won’t if they land some free agents.
Nice problem to have. They'd have to get rid of somebody if he's the SG, him/Buddy/Bogi all need minutes. They could trade Bogi and have Buddy as 6th man.
Yeah, good point.
I am not exactly shitting rainbows about picking late lottery.
But, I am very happy to have 2 picks.
Not getting that Pistons pick would have been horrific.
Scouting LeBron?Quit distracting me.....I'm in the Cavs-C's thread now.

Better to have too many than not enough. I'd like them to not trade Bogi or Buddy but if it helps the long term future of the team I'll understand. Luka could still go #1 though, the new Suns coach used to coach him.Nice problem to have.
Congratulations. When is the parade?
Things worked out well for you guys.
If the pick had jumped, that wouldn't have necessarily been in your favor.
Plus, you have the opportunity to take the perfect guy.
I hope you get him.
So your logic tells you it would have been better for the Lakers to give up a top 5 pick last year but have #10 this season?
Your butthurt has no limits.
