The Cowboys finished 10-6 last year, but had so many close victories. Five of their wins were by four or fewer points, meaning their 10-6 record easily could have been 5-11 if they weren't so lucky. I expect Dallas to disappoint for a number of reasons on top of its natural regression:

1. Ezekiel Elliott is holding out. Even if he eventually reports to the team, there's a dubious history concerning running backs who hold out. It's likely that Elliott won't have his best season unless he returns to the team soon.

2. Amari Cooper was amazing for Dallas last year, but he often quit for the Raiders. If things don't go well for him, he may give up on routes and drop lots of passes again.

3. Cole Beasley is gone. Beasley was such a key third-down weapon for Dak Prescott. Just look at how poorly the Cowboys fared with Beasley being banged up against the Rams.

4. The offensive line isn't the same without Travis Frederick. There's a chance Frederick could play this season, but it's unlikely that he'll be as great as he used to be.

5. Jason Garrett continues to be the worst head coach in the NFL.

So much wrong here and clearly not from someone that actually follows the Cowboys. But, it's certainly an opinion...

Maybe, but I think the better question is what Pennsylvania team sucks more.
well thats easy

i mean the steeler employ a rapist, lost the GOAT WR, and Let the best RB in the NFL walk

THe eagles have the AMVP, STellar WR's, and the GOAT RB core

1. During Elliotts suspension it was shown the run game goes as the OL goes

2. You're basing this on assumptions

3. Cole Beasley is known as the Little chain mover, but he's replaceable

4. The Frederick situation will be wait and see.

5. Jason Garrett while not great on Sunday, he's definitely not the worst HC.

actually I am waiting for the giants to have that Mahomes story.
No not stat wise. (they are the giants)
but the story where Chefs got some grief for moving up to get mahomes. Many thought it was a reach.
Seems like everyone is thinking it is a reach for Jones as well. Guess we will see if some of these scouts no their shit or not. makes you wonder if Jones will be the surprise of the 1st round.

while you are right on all these points. I didnt feel like debating or splitting hairs. So he had decent points on all these. I dont believe it is doom & gloom for saying so though.
Hopefully the Garrett on sundays thing will be irrelevant with Moore this year.

Sure, I love these types of conversations and I can't speak for how much other fans follow or don't follow especially in the preseason or what their opinions are. And I'm a minority because one fan says "good points"? Do you know what a minority means?

1 - it's August 3rd. They haven't even played a preseason game yet. This is a non-issue right now. It would be more worrisome right now if Dallas signed Zeke to the biggest RB contract in the league than him sitting out because he has two years left under contract. Zeke gets way too many snaps and goes way too hard in practice. I won't pretend I'm happy he isn't in camp but I'm glad he is not gong through 100% and is resting. I'll start to worry if he hasn't reported about 7 days before week 1. Last time Zeke went to Cabo to train he came back lighter and in better shape than when he left. My prediction Zeke is back in camp in 3 days. But I'll start to worry in 3 weeks even though I've already said I wouldn't sign him this year and I think we can win without him. Plus, aren't you the one quoting the PFF stat as we speak that says Zeke isn't even worth resigning????

2 - No one has been praised more by the coaching staff than Cooper. Guy runs every route 100%. i heard a report the other day where he hasn't lost one route yet. That's insane. Read about his quotes about his contract. Guy jut wants to play Football. But if a contract is on his mind then the last thing he will do in his final year is dog it in any way at all. He didn't give up on routes or drop passes last year. I can make things up about any player and say they may stop trying if they are losing but it doesn't make it true. Guy is the quietest most mellow guy on the team. Not sure where the proof of him quitting is. Plus these are reasons why they are overrated according to the writer so why mention something that is only pertinent after they already are losing? That doesn't make sense as a reason they are overrated.

3 - Beasley was a complete big mouthed malcontent last year. He was such a big 3rd down option here because no one else could get open. Dallas barely tried to resign him and I've yet to read anything from anyone around the team that doesn't think Cobb is better. Did Walter's forget about that signing and how Dallas made a concerted effort to get more speed on Offense? Beasley was great at what he did but he was just one of the many slow Dallas receiving options that couldn't break big plays, didn't get respect from CBs that played them tough and tight and didn't force safeties to stay back. So while he made some big plays on 3rd down he was also a reason everything was bunched in the middle of the field which hurt both the passing game and running game. They needed a more explosive Offense and while I loved Beasley I'm glad he is gone. I also think he cares more about his rap career than Football and if you read his comments he is still infatuated with Dallas and I think trying to cover up for the fact that he would rather be there than Buffalo.

4 - Just saying there is a "chance that Frederick could play this year" just destroys any credibility about this writer. Frederick is playing unless he has a set back of some sort. He has already hit his max weight lifting numbers from before his illness and is 100% expected to play. Might he end up not playing? Of course, but as we sit here today it is unlikely and the writer acts as if his playing would be the unlikely option.

5. If he has a bad season I hope he is fired, but Jason Garrett is absolutely not the worst head coach in the NFL. He is horrible at time management and does some idiotic things on game day but he is a great practice coach that stresses players doing things the right way and competition for jobs and as an example I loved when they had Taco inactive last year because they felt his effort wasn't there. He also is part of the decision making with Will McClay that has had all of these great drafts and built this team. Do I think he is a top coach? Of course not but he isn't the worst. He also won the coach of the year 2 years ago. I'm not pretending that means a lot but it does mean at least a little something. I think Garrett is a huge part of why this team turned around from an entitled group of guys that gave no effort to a tight knit group of guys that now win close games because of their heart and effort and preparation of doing things the right way

There was no number to this one and I started it above but they win close games because they are good and they have a clutch QB that plays his best down the stretch and they wear teams out with their physicality and because they rotate their defense and keep guys fresh. To say a 10-6 record could easily be 5-11 is just stupid. Who is that dumb. Want to say they could have lost one or two games, OK, but all 5 that were of 4 or fewer points sounds like an agenda or an idiot. Plus there were only 4 games they won by four or fewer points I think so he isn't even correct and they lost 2 games by 3 points. So now they are going to go 0-7 or 0-8 in close games?

Who felt the need to post it here (as did another Eagles fan in a different thread) as if it wasn't complete and utter BS? We all read a lot of stupid crap on the internet but most people don't post those dumb things here unless they think they are accurate or they just want to start crap.

And I agree it’s crap but I see it all over Cowboy sites.

Funny we say we doubt they get paid for work they didn't do, and Over The Top PE1 who has no way of knowing is CERTAIN they do.

I said certainly they must get paid, especially since you are the one saying they helped a player sign a 5 year deal. The truth is neither side knows for sure. I just think it’s pretty certain they do since they are the agent for that contract.

The agent has ZERO say so on the 5th year option. Why can't you process this simple issue. The 5th year is mandated by the CBA to be included in 1st round picks and it's value is determined by other contracts.

I understand that but he is still the agent of record for that contract so I’m sure he will get paid. Someone needs to find proof.
