Great...did the BigTen still prevent Minnesota from going to a bowl from 1975-1998? I only see 3 bowls for Minny in that time frame.

Simple, Minnesota tried to de-emphasize football back in the late 50s, but Minnesota's 1960 Natl Title forced them to keep it, but while they kept football, they just chose not to fund it. So it did what it did through the late 60s, 70s, 80s and early 90s while being like the 10th, then 11th, then 12th best funded team in the conference. Not until the late 90s did they change their philosophy when it came to football, went after Glen Mason and started fundraising for the new stadium.

Meanwhile Oregon had their sugar daddy Nike to give them lots of money.

Don't worry, UMn gave you 50 years to catch up and you didn't even come close, now I believe with Fleck, it's too late.

I put Fleck high because of really 2 reasons.

1. He didn't inherit talent. Minnesota hasn't had double digit wins since 2003. Minnesota hasn't had more than 10 wins since 1904. Fleck is doing something there.

2. He has never had a season regress. Obviously I think this will happen, but the extent is what will truly determine how good he is. Still in 7 years, 2 schools... never having a worse season than the prior year is somewhat impressive.
