I'm tossed between Travis (alligator hands) Taylor and the infamous, comical , Kyle (finger in light socket) Boller...
Man they were bad, but Kyle was more productive than TT, so it's Alligator Hands for the Ravens IMO....
my fav plays of KB is when he would take off running and knock the ball out of his own hands with his knee........I used to cringe everytime he didn't hand the ball off, because something bad was likely to happen....And you guys wonder why we love Joe...:D

David LaFleur & Shante Carver. However if you went back to 89' wasting a 1st round pick on Steve Walsh after taking Aikman #1 was pretty stupid if you ask me.

the worst 1st round pick for my team ever, arguably the worst first round pick ever........

Jamarcus Russell
I think with the amount of money he cost the raiders to simply waste their time. I would have to agree. Might have been the worst ever
1a) Jason Smith, OT Baylor #2 overall

1b) Sam Bradford #1 overall over Suh

The Rams own this thread.
I don't know. There was a time the bengals couldnt get a high end pick right. David klingler, Akili Smith, Kijana Carter All high end picks. Remember at least one of them were a #1 (I think) Sure there might be a couple other high end picks that didn't do so well. But I remember thinking holy crap, whats next? they gonna hire David Shula for a Head coach?
I would have actually felt bad for Bengal fans........ If I knew any.

pfffffttttt.....

When Charles Rogers got hurt and began is downward spiral, we drafted Mike Williams to save the day. That fat fuck hadn't played football in about two years.

Did appreciate the five years of Suh though. (Bradford stayed at Oklahoma because we were picking first in 09, I'm sure of it.)

I will chime in with the Baltimore Ravens draft picks. My criteria is that anyone drafted in round 1-3 should be at least a serviceable starter for your team. Starting with the first ever draft for the Ravens and working our way to present:

1996: CB DeRon Jenkins 2nd round 55th overall.
1997: RB Jay Graham 3rd round 64th overall.
1998: WR Patrick Johnson 2nd Round 42nd overall
2000: WR Travis Taylor 1st round 10th overall. If you take away the fact that he was a first round pick, and was perhaps a 3rd rounder you would think his production was pretty good. But he was drafted 10th overall to be that gamechanger elite franchise WR and he was never that.
2003: QB Kyle Boller 1st Round 19th overall: Leads all NFL QB's in "Trips over own feet" pulling away from center.
2003: RB Musa Smith 3rd Round 77th overall: Tons of injuries derailed him. Ravens thought he was special
2004: WR Devard Darling 3rd Round 82nd overall
2005: WR Mark Clayton 1st round 22nd overall: Injuries and the same that applies to Taylor.
2005: DE/LB Dan Cody 2nd Round 53rd overall: Never did a darn thing, blew out is knee.
2005: OT Adam Terry 2nd Round 64th overall
2006: CB David Pittman 3rd Round 87th overall
2007: WR Yamon Figurs 3rd Round 74th overall
2008: LB Tavares Gooden 3rd round 71st overall
2008: OL Oniel Cousins 3rd round 99th overall
2009: OT Micheal Oher 1st Round 23rd overall: He was okay, but certainly not a 1st round pick talent
2010: LB Sergio Kindle 2nd round 43rd overall: fell down some steps, fractured his skull and killed his career.
2010: DT Terrence Cody 2nd Round 57th overall: He is just big...that's it.
2010: TE Ed Dickson 3rd round 70th overall: He was drafted a round before Pitta. Good ol Ed "Brick Hands"
2011: OL Jah Reid 3rd round 85th overall
2012: LB/DE Courtney Upshaw 2nd round 35th overall: Just hasn't shown much so far.
2013: LB Arthur Brown 2nd round 56th overall: So far, not so good.

So if we want to go with worst production to draft pick I think we have to place Sergio Kindle and Dan Cody near the very top of that list. There were certainly some first round busts, but at least they played and put up some numbers. But these two guys were drafted rather high in the second rounds and they did virtually next to nothing on the field.

Might be Aaron Curry for Seattle who I thought would be such a stud. Not only did Seattle pay him a TON of money, but he was #4 overall, many analysts were arguing he even made sense #1 overall to the Lions... got traded from the team a few years later to the Raiders where he was cut/released and then the bloke retired and said he didn't want to play football... took all that dumb guaranteed that stupid linebacker fetish Ruskell gave him and moved on.

Chung at No. 13 I think is the clear winner for the Pats first round busts since 1990.

The Rams have one the best DTs in football. Bradford is obviously a bust but Suh and his contract being on the Dolphins doesnt bother me at all.

Jason Smith sent the team waaay back which is why it would be back breaking if Greg Robinson busts.

Oher has had a pretty long career. Hard to claim he was a bust.

Okay let's see here

Tim Couch, Courtney Brown, Brady Quinn, Johnny Rehab...oh hell it's the Browns! Too many crappy Draft Day decisions to even list.

Well if take Wheeden and Richardson as a set then it becomes pretty clear. But drafting has not been something the Browns seem to ever do well no matter who the GM is.

The one thing the Browns have down to a science since their return in '99 is making the wrong Draft Day decisions.

Is anyone else having problems typing & posting comments this morning? Once again the lag's & delay's on SportsHoopla are totally fucked up. Although this is nothing new, it's been happening a lot lately.

I had thought Singleton was before '90, but he was drafted in '90 at No. 8, so he definitely qualifies.
