Excellent signing for a perfect amount of time.

Up to $143 million in dedicated payroll for 2014 now. Can't wait to see what they do with the other 46 million.

Thank you, glad it wasn't the Royals...$16m, we just can't afford that. Would like to have him but the cost of who would go wouldn't be worth it.

I thought Choo would be who the Yankees signed. The 6 years he wants chased them away I guess.

I wanted Choo, but Beltran hits LHP better. Probably cheaper than Choo and they have more money to spend elsewhere. Still want Omar Infante for 2B. And they have to get Tanaka for the rotation if posted. Got to figure out the left side of the infield as well.

Ya you got Ellsbury, Beltran, Soriano, Ichiro, Gardner and Wells in the outfield. Be interesting to see that rotation, Im guessing Soriano/Beltran will DH platoon.

I think they still get Choo and Infante, trade Gardner for Brandon Phillips and go with Choo, Ellsbury, Beltran in the OF and have Soriano DH

Ichiro and Wells will get cut.

1. Jeter
2. Ellsbury
3. Choo
4. Soriano
5. Beltran
6. Teixeira
7. McCann
8. Phillips
9. Infante

I would have loved to see Beltran in a Red Sox uniform, but he didn't really have a position. Sox have a Gomes/Nava platoon in LF, Bradley Jr. in CF, and Victorino in RF. Ortiz is DHing.

One of them will most likely be gone.

Reds aren't trading Brandon Phillips for Brett Gardner, besides they already have Billy Hamilton who could play CF for them

Yeah cause the Reds are just dying to trade away one of their best rbi guys for a 30 year old outfielder that doesn't hit for power

He had 103 RBI because he had two of the highest OBP guys in the NL ahead of him. Phillips may have had his worst offensive season since 2006. He had his lowest OBP, SLG%, and OPS+ since '06.

I'd rather have Gardner.

Don't forget the rag arm.

Why do people think Gardner has a rag arm? His arm certainly isn't great and won't wow anyone, but he's fundamentally perfect, always hits the cutoff man and always throws to the right base. What he lacks in gunning guys out at the plate, he makes up for by not letting guys take extra bases.
