If he was seriously focused on the draft he would realized this "not playing" will be talked about through out the draft process and teams will question his decision for not playing

You are a NFL owner and you don't want him because he was saving himself and his mileage for your franchise instead of risking being damaged goods from playing in an exhibition game? That's just not real world thinking my friend, he will be just fine.

He has been playing slightly hurt pretty much all year. Instead of playing in the Citrus Bowl he can spend all that extra time finally getting his ankle to 100% for the combine.

Ridiculous. Ask Jaylon Smith how he feels about Fournette not playing. Easy to be all tough and say play the game, but nobody here is risking millions of dollars to play in a meaningless bowl game
That's your opinion and I can respect it. IMO, Fournette can suit up and at least sit on the bench and support his teammates.

Fair enough, then he should at least suit up and sit on the bench and show support for his teammates.

I missed the part where he said he wasn't going to the bowl game. Just thought he was sitting it out. He very well could still be on the LSU sidelines

The kid has his whole life in front of him including a high paying career. If he gets injured playing in his last college game his whole life looks way different. Injury could delay him playing in the NFL like Willis McGahee which would not be all bad but then again it could relegate him to flipping burgers at Wendy's.

$8.50 an hour < several million in a signing bonus?

If I was a fan of the team it would be a let down to not see him play. I get that too.

That is why I said earlier, that Fournette can at least suit up and sit on the bench and support his teammates.

LSU is on their way back to being the program they were before Saban.

AD is an idiot. Hope he gets a raise.

Unless they can get Anu Solomon to transfer there.

Even Orgeron probably couldn't screw that one up.

I still cringe when I think about Marcus Lattimore. Not a bowl game, but that dude gave his shit every Saturday for South Carolina. Maybe the saddest sports injury I've ever witnessed live.

From a King to a HS coach in matter of seconds. from what I have read of the guy he is one stand up dude.

I get the argument but call it what it is: abandoning his teammates for money
Lets call college football what it is: minor league football for students. You go to college to get a job. Its not the job.

For everybody saying it's ok to skip because it's an exhibition game, college football is an exhibition sport. With that attitude what's the point of watching CFb, none of them get paid anyway

I hear what you guy's are saying but the question will be , " if he's hurt in December will he shut it down early even if he's getting paid?"

They know full well that the guy should already be in the pros but was forced to stay in college. He wants to get paid to play and has the talent to do so. They are not worried about that in the least.

If his team was in a playoff to compete for a national title my opinion would be different. He needs to play. But the Citrus Bowl is an exhibition game. Plain and simple

I can't go along with that. He's letting his team, fans, and coaches down.

Good for him. He's already banged up, there's no need for him to play this game, just get ready for the combine. What is he supposed to prove playing in a glorified exhibition game?

that's fucking great. brilliant. What if all the kids with NFL talent decided to do the same thing and sit out the bowl games?????? wow, what a great bowl season we'd have. :L:tsk:
