Sometimes a change in scenery is a positive thing. However, coming to the Flyers may not be a bright light in his eyes. In particular, our cap situation along with our personnel.:noidea:

The Jets are sitting on 9-10 decent dmen with Trouba coming back shortly. They need a 2-3rd line winger so there's a potential partner there. But just when I think they could move a fwd as they have lots of scoring they get shutout 2 games in a row. Nothing here makes sense but I would definitely look at a guy like Enstrom as he's a good puck moving dman like Timonen and could be had. I just highly doubt that they'd want a D body included back in the trade as they have too many already..... What do you guys think would you do this?

How much of their inability to score stems from the poor D, and the inability to consistently move the puck on the back end and transition from D to O?

I'd love Toby Enstrom but I think the Jets are playing so well that even when they get everyone back, I'm just not sure they would want to part with any of those guys - d-men can get hurt pretty quickly as we've seen with a lot of teams - don't want to give up that depth

Could the Jets be in the market for someone like Vinny? 3rd line center with stanley cup experience for their playoff run?

What are the rules on the flyers eating some of the money of that contract? I know it is a pipe dream to get rid of that albatross of a contract, but it makes a little sense, could help their power play...

Vinny won't go to a Canadian team.

I am getting closer and closer to having a two player untouchable list for the "dressed" roster. Laughton being injured is safe for the moment.

But like I said they will have 9-10 guys and can't send enough down without losing one. They definitely won't take Vinny as they won't want to spend the cash and I guess for Enstrom they'd want a lot. Maybe Schenn or Read and something. Hard to trade Schenn I'd rather Read and a pick but you get that mobile puck mover that's greatly needed and he'll be good for some time. I think something could be done there.

Also I think if you're going to trade for a d-man, you need to dump one or two of them first so that you don't end up being stuck with all of them

Apparently the d-men generating the most interest are Grossmann and Del Zotto.

Do you think the low interest in Coburn is the injury or his regression in play without Timmo?

It's probably both his injury and the whole salary vs. production issue. And, perhaps, the Flyers asking price...

I also think part of it is that, at this time of year, teams are looking to fill more specific needs. Both Grossmann and Del Zotto, for all of their faults, have very specific strengths. Coburn, on the other hand, is more of an all-around d-man who doesn't excel in any particular area.

that's what I think is keeping Coburn out of the major rumor stories. I expect they want at least a 1st for him.
