It's probably both his injury and the whole salary vs. production issue. And, perhaps, the Flyers asking price...

Hopefully some team gets desperate enough around the deadline and gives up what we want.

Looking like it finally is the end of the line between Kane and the Jets. Considering we nearly acquired him last summer I wonder if Hextall is still interested

Who goes if we get him?

Brayden Schenn imo - Flyers might have to put a second piece in the deal(prospect/pick/another player) to get it done though

Schenn brothers I could part with don't know if they would go for that.

Jets don't need any d-men, if anything, they need to get rid of one since they have so many

Maybe Brayden Schenn and Matt Read for Evander Kane and one of their d-men, I dunno - it's real tricky to make a deal that will really work for both sides

Something like that could work as the Jets need forward depth but the cap will play into it as well. Kane can be good if in the right situation but he's immature. He would be nuts with G and Jake with that speed they may be completely unstoppable....

Kane getting shoulder surgery out 4-6 months.

Yep no deal there unless the Flyers fall out of the hunt...the Jets probably won't move him until the draft now.

I agree awaz. With Mason down, we now have to go with Razor and Stolarz. Zepp is out as well. Things do not look good.

As much as I don't like saying it, the flyers are pretty much out of the hunt. 9 back with 28 to go and they're chasing the Bruins (who are better than them).

And Mason is hurt..

Eastern Conference Playoff Chances - Sports Club Stats

Yeah the chances are still slim but I think considering the schedules of Boston and the Flyers, if the Flyers take care of business against teams they should beat, there's an outside chance they could cut the deficit to maybe 5-6 points by the end of the month and with 5-6 weeks left going into March, if they're only 5-6 points out, if you gain a point a week then by the end you have a shot - Boston's better than the Flyers but I'm telling you, Boston has some legitimate deficiencies(watched the game against the Habs last night and it showed), they can't keep up with faster teams and the team as currently constructed will have trouble on a nightly basis trying to beat teams that are faster than them - even though they've played better lately, it's games like that which shows why Boston is where they're at in the standings

It will be way tougher without Mase if he's out for any period of time though

I know the Flyers don't want to give up a lot to get a goalie if Mase is out for sometime but I think they owe it to the players to at least do the best they can and not just get a goalie for filler, they deserve at least a fighting chance considering how they've played the last month or so, and they won't get that chance if Ray Emery is the starter - you're pretty much telling the players, "Hey, we're done, we don't care about finding a legitimate goalie while Mase is out"

Funny, but we have gone from a 2.7% chance to 6.3 in one week. To get to 50% over the last 29 games we would have to go 19-7-3. One of the teams above us would have to play below the level that they have played all season. Looking ay our schedule, it will be tough to win more than 15. That is even tougher if Mason is out for any time. Mason is now 11th with 2.27 and tied for 4th with .925 save percent.

If G and Jake can get going again, our chances would improve.

If the Flyers keep playing well the rest of this month(and honestly they should get some wins this month with some of the opponents they have) then they can make up a bit of ground

Never give up but we'll have a better idea by the deadline so they can play their cards right.

There will definitely be some moving parts on defense - no way do they keep every one of those guys - In a perfect world they get Braydon Coburn out of there for sure and then who knows if Kimmo comes back - it sounds like it's Kimmo's call if he comes back, whether he wants to stay or not - and if he wants to go elsewhere they'll definitely grant his wish - if so you can get some decent pieces for those two guys

I think we can make up ground but 19-7-3 would be pretty impressive with Mason missing time. That would be 95 points which should do it but it would be close. 94 got us in last year. Too bad we only have 1 more against each Washington and Boston as the best way to make up points is head to head.

They'll have to do their damage in the standings this month because after this month, the schedule is very difficult

I want no part of the flyers buying at the trade deadline. The goal is to win a cup, not make the playoffs. It'll be a surprise if they make the playoffs. I think the chances of them winning the cup are less than my chances of marrying Taylor Swift <3

That means we are in business. Does that put to rest the rumor going around awaz that you and Miss Swift are an item?
