Lets do this!
It's probably both his injury and the whole salary vs. production issue. And, perhaps, the Flyers asking price...
Hopefully some team gets desperate enough around the deadline and gives up what we want.

Looking like it finally is the end of the line between Kane and the Jets. Considering we nearly acquired him last summer I wonder if Hextall is still interested
Who goes if we get him?
Brayden Schenn imo - Flyers might have to put a second piece in the deal(prospect/pick/another player) to get it done though
Schenn brothers I could part with don't know if they would go for that.
Jets don't need any d-men, if anything, they need to get rid of one since they have so many
Maybe Brayden Schenn and Matt Read for Evander Kane and one of their d-men, I dunno - it's real tricky to make a deal that will really work for both sides
Something like that could work as the Jets need forward depth but the cap will play into it as well. Kane can be good if in the right situation but he's immature. He would be nuts with G and Jake with that speed they may be completely unstoppable....
Kane getting shoulder surgery out 4-6 months.
Yep no deal there unless the Flyers fall out of the hunt...the Jets probably won't move him until the draft now.
As much as I don't like saying it, the flyers are pretty much out of the hunt. 9 back with 28 to go and they're chasing the Bruins (who are better than them).
And Mason is hurt..
Eastern Conference Playoff Chances - Sports Club Stats
Funny, but we have gone from a 2.7% chance to 6.3 in one week. To get to 50% over the last 29 games we would have to go 19-7-3. One of the teams above us would have to play below the level that they have played all season. Looking ay our schedule, it will be tough to win more than 15. That is even tougher if Mason is out for any time. Mason is now 11th with 2.27 and tied for 4th with .925 save percent.
If G and Jake can get going again, our chances would improve.
Never give up but we'll have a better idea by the deadline so they can play their cards right.
If the Flyers keep playing well the rest of this month(and honestly they should get some wins this month with some of the opponents they have) then they can make up a bit of ground
I think we can make up ground but 19-7-3 would be pretty impressive with Mason missing time. That would be 95 points which should do it but it would be close. 94 got us in last year. Too bad we only have 1 more against each Washington and Boston as the best way to make up points is head to head.
