Drouin requested a trade. Get this man in our top 6

What would you give up for him?

I would think Tampa would want a legitimate contributor right now and not necessarily someone that they have to wait 2-3 years for to develop

Drouin is a natural LW. His skating would be a significant improvement to the forward lines regardless.
That said, I don't know what the Lightning will want in return, but it will be significant.
Again, don't trade the defense prospects.

Maybe they'll take Vinny back for Drouin..

Do you risk trading an established player like Simmonds? I think I would in hopes that Drouin breaks out big time.

I don't think Tampa wants to take on money with Stamkos and others coming up on contracts. Could want an ELC ready to play which we don't really have available

I thought about him as a good fit for Tampa, but I agree that they probably won't want to take on more money

I don't think the Flyers are the best trade partner in all likelihood - if I were Tampa and I couldn't re-sign Stamkos, I'd move Jonathan Drouin for someone like Ryan Johansen and then flip Stamkos for a huge haul

If the Lightning are going to try to keep the team in the upper echelon with or without Stamkos, moving Drouin will not clear much in the way of cap space. Holding out for multiple established players or even that one key player might ensure that the signing of Stamkos is not going to happen. They are up against the cap as much as the Flyers. They also have to resign Kucherov. and several other players. Even with 30 mil possible cap space available I think that the Lightning are most likely preparing to part company with Stamkos and are looking to stockpile as much as they can. Moving Drouin will allow them to begin the process of collecting assets that may not affect this years cap situation.

Overall, I think Drouin will cost at least a 1st, a top prospect and perhaps an additional prospect or two. If he could be had for say, a 1st (or a conditional lottery protected first), Laughton and Cousins or Manning....but truth be told, I don't think the Flyers have what it takes to make the deal that will also work for Tampa.

If Stamkos and Johnson were having better years I would want to just go all in as a Tampa fan. Stamkos walking could effective shut the Cup window, might as well swing for the fences this spring. Don't know what Yzerman plans on doing. I won't believe we are in on Drouin until someone credible says so, but wherever Drouin goes I better he returns an underwhelming package. This has Seguin written all over it

And now I am getting my hopes up. I'd kill to land Drouin. The influx of talent between him and Konency would jumpstart the rebuild. Do it, Ron.

Colorado would be an interesting fit for Jonathan Drouin - him and Nathan MacKinnon could be real good

Maybe something around Zadorov? Could be a young, cost efficient replacement for Coburn who is a UFA this summer

Possibly, although Zadorov has had issues of his own - but I guess on a good team they can get that right

Anaheim should ask too - something centered around Cam Fowler would be interesting - Ducks need offense and that Shea Theodore kid looks ready so Cam Fowler could be expendable

Yes. I know he's only 20, but what has this kid really proven so far statistically through 89 Nhl games? That he can get injured, receive less ice time and ride the bench. He has the same amount of goals as Ghost did through 15 games.

They've temporarily ruined the kid and subsequently his trade value too. So, I would be all about trading for him because Tampa won't get what they really want or deserve in return.

I agree with whoever said I'd look to get Johansen with Drouin. Both players on their way out from their current teams, so both have a lowered value right now.

I also agree that the Flyers probably don't have the right mix to make a move for Drouin. They don't really have any difference makers at the NHL level that are cheap (ELC's). Would TB consider something like a 1st and BSchenn? I think that's the best offer the Flyers could give TB if they're trying to make a run this year. Or maybe the Flyers would consider moving Ghost for Drouin? That would be interesting.. not sure I'd do it, but I would probably consider it. Drouin scares me a bit though, I'd love to add a top 6 potential forward, but his slow development can't be ALL mismanagement. Something else has to be wrong. Maybe a change of scenery helps (Seguin) or maybe it doesn't. I don't think I'm willing to risk a future piece like Ghost on that.

Just tank for Laine or Puljujarvi instead :)

If I'm the Ducks I definitely don't consider moving Fowler for Drouin. There better be a lot more coming from TB if Fowler leaves. He's a bonafide #1 dman.

Ghost would help Tampa now and I guess that fits the want of an ELC in their lineup right now, but they do have Anthony DeAngelo in the system and he could be a similar type of player so I don't know if they want to have him be roadblocked

And yes, that was me who mentioned the swap with CBJ :)

Yeah more of just what could take place and not what would actually happen

A lot of teams think they have a chance to win so I see some unexpected trades as time goes on here

I think trading Ghost would be a mistake right now. Yes, he's going to have some growing pains defensively, but he's the offensive force we've needed since the prime of Timonen and/or loss of Pronger.

And I know it's early in his career, but does the kid not look like a potential stud already? Despite the trip to CA, he's a +4 with 6 goals and 14 points in only 21 games. Just 6 penalty minutes too, so he's recovering defensively with his speed/skill instead of cheating.

Idk, is Seth Jones really the franchise-type player that Johansen definitely appears to be?

To me, the Predators win this one until Seth Jones can prove he's a number one guy. He was obviously overshadowed in Nashville.
