On the last few..

Wilson, I just haven't seen enough from him to think he can be a difference maker as a 2C. Maybe he can be a depth scorer and energy type guy, but he can't be a staple imo.

Marchand, I hate his guts but I'm not going to lie and say I wouldn't like him on the team. I'm not sure he can be a 2C on a Stanley cup contender, I don't know if he brings enough offense. But he's definitely a good guy to have on the team. Asshole that he is.

Coots is a dynamite 3C. Not sure if he can carry the torch as a 2C. I would be willing to try him next year though. Laughton should be a full time flyer, he should be able to hold down the 3C. Play him with Read and maybe White. Play coots with jake and raffl. Move schenn+ for a winger to play with g and simmer. Maybe? I don't know. Hopefully in the draft you get a blue chipper on the front line.

Im cool with moving any dman on the roster. They will suck without streit though that is for sure.

1) I think Colin Wilson is probably a tweener between 2nd and 3rd liner so maybe it's not a fit, but he's having a a career year with the Preds

2) With David Krejci out of the lineup, Brad Marchand has been brilliant - he's been real good all season on a team that has had lots of guys playing like crap - he's a strong PK'er as well and I think his overall two-way game is one of that I think could really help this team

3) I think Michael Raffl is the guy that can play with G and Simmer - he has 16 goals this season and has missed time with sickness, so it would probably be higher than that - I think the second line is what needs serious fortifying - G has his guy in Simmer, so they need to find a center for Jake - that's why I would trade Mark Streit for a 1st rounder because they can package that and Brayden Schenn to get the center they need and then they still have their two first rounders to use to fortify the system

Trade Scenarios(I made these up):

Brayden Schenn + Luke Schenn + 1st(after moving Mark Streit for this pick) for Ryan O'Reilly and a 3rd or 4th round pick

Or this crazy one:

Mark Streit for a 1st round pick, then go all Chip Kelly by trading all three first round picks plus Brayden Schenn for OLIVER EKMAN-LARSSON

If that's what it takes for either of those guys I think I decline. The RoR deal, if the flyers give up that much, I want a guy who has shown he can be at least a point per game player. Maybe you don't get any bites if that's your line, but I'd rather build through the draft if that's the case.

On the oel deal, that's just too many pieces for one player. You wouldn't be able to build a team around oel.

LOL that was my bullshit trade proposal of the day - it is a ton to get OEL but OEL is sooooo damn good

As for RoR - that's my only concern is that the point total might not be as high, but he's a more polished player and he's shown some really good ability in his career - it's hard to find top notch number two centers - a guy like Eric Staal only has one year left on his deal after this season, but his cap hit is huge and he's not the youngest guy - but he'd be a great fit on this team if you strictly look at his play

hopefully one of our young'ns will be that good too :)

A player in the mold of Eric Staal would be a great fit. As you said, expensive and getting up there in age, but he's got the skill. Dream draft this year would be to get a top 6 winger and a top 6 center. Not sure if you'll be able to do that, but that would be outstanding. Giroux was a late 1st rounder, so we can hope!

Wouldn't reach though, if the BPA is a d-man, you take him. Having too many solid d-men would be a glorious situation to be in.

B Schenn is the most "expendable" of the younger forwards. He is still an enigma and intriguing in that he has size and top flight skill but has yet to put it all together in the NHL. How much of that is that he has been bounced around from wing to Center and back....and how much of it is him. How much of that is coaching and how much of that is him? If you are looking at addition via subtraction moving Schenn to the right team could allow the Flyers to target a true need either with the assets they get in return or in the trade itself. This could also clear up some of the questions about who is the top wing or 2nd center...

Slava Voynov’s trial, originally set to begin April 21, has been delayed until July as lawyers argue over whether the LA Kings defenseman’s wife should testify. It was also learned that Voynov had surgery last week to repair his Achilles tendon

I don't think Shenn is going anywhere. He has been moved around too much this year. Raffl, w/o a FA LW should be on the 1st line and Shenn should be 2C for the year. Let him build some chemistry. Couts is 3C. Simmonds at 2RW And either Raffl or FA at 2LW.

I truly believe Berube royally fucked up the developement,of the whole team, with his constant changes.

He was way too quick to switch pairings ,if 1 guy was underacheiving on a line. How in the hell do you keep your confidence, when you know you might be tomorrows healthy scratch?

I give a lot of credit to certain guys, espescially Del Zotto, for rebounding from Berubes brain farts.

Just playing Devil's Advocate, but perhaps Del Zotto rebounded BECAUSE of Berube's holding him accountable?

No, he was already playing well before he got benched earlier in the season - it was inexcusable for him to be benched the way he was and it shows the incompetence of the head coach

MDZ has played well because this team is a good fit for him, not because the coach was holding him accountable

I don't know but why do writers just print anything they feel no matter how dumb it is.

Generates web hits! They're not paid to put out good material, that's objective. They're paid to generate traffic to the site. Lots of people disagree strongly enough to visit, comment, return to see who commented on their comments, etc etc.

@DarrenDreger: Buffalo, Toronto, Philly...all believed to have interest in Babcock. He will get paid big $...that's a given. McDavid might tip the scale.
