There's the risk that with the Kings as close to the cap as they are, if he comes back before the playoffs, they're screwed because they don't have the cap space, so they have to do something

If he was going to get charged, neither team would bother with this, but Dean has probably talked to Hexy and gave him some hints along the way that "Hey, Slava is probably not getting charged and we need to move him because of where we're at with the cap"
