It was a lot like Rangers-Cardinals Game 6.

Rangers were one strike from winning in 9. Then Josh Hamilton puts them up by 2 in extras but they can't hold the lead and end up losing. Then go on to lose Game 7.

Big difference was they would have won the series.

Difference also is that Game 6 in 2011 was ugly. 5 errors from the top of the 4th to the bottom of the 6th that resulted in 4 unearned runs.

That was a hell of a game. I'm just glad the Dodgers didn't lie down and lose 5-3. I think they saved themselves from losing too much momentum by coming back. Old Dodgers teams would have laid down there.

And hey, the Dodgers were 98-0 this season when leading after the 8th. Can't really blame me for saying all they had to do was get it to Jansen.

I look for more late innings fireworks in this series for two reasons, the Astros have just killed it after the 7th offensively all year, they've already gotten to Kimbrel, Chapman, and now Jansen. The Astros bullpen is pretty bad and the Dodgers have some really mentally tough hitters with power.

I feel like we need early leads at home to hold on and get us at least 2 wins. I really don't want to go back to LA, but the odds of one of the Dodgers starting pitchers not pitching a gem at some point is pretty bad. So 2 wins at home is probably a more realistic goal.

Context...

Kershaw has averaged 6.7 IP/GS with a 2.36 ERA in the regular season over his career. In the postseason, only 6.0 IP/GS with a 4.21 ERA.

I think the most relevant context to this discussion is that you and outlaw are Dodgers fans.

“But if you pretend his his bad innings didn’t happen, he’s been much better.”

lolz

You need to go look up the definition of context.

And I'd say the same thing about Justin Verlander if we were having a discussion in 2011 about his postseason marks. So fuck your 'Dodger homer' theory.

I couldn't make.. I crashed after the Dodgers tied it in the 10th. It sounds like it was fun. I'm glad JV didn't get hung with the loss. The ball was flying out of there last night and a few probably would have been loud fly balls outs another day.

What happened to all the super stats in baseball? Only a few in this series.
And PUIG is not a super star...

Fanboy here doesn’t understand the definition of “context.”

Dave Roberts took Rich Hill out way to soon and that really cost him that game. If the Dodgers lose to the Astros in this series - then they will need to invest more money in one or two more pitchers - I felt from the beginning they were vulnerable in the pitching department. They got some really good hitters who young enough to be around quite a few more years and will only get better.

Tried telling you....
That was a given really - there was just no way that the Dodgers was going to sweep one of the two best teams in the world series. I will be happy if the Dodgers just win it. I had them picked to win 4-2, but I am beginning to see a seven game series is possible.

The Dodgers had a 124 ERA+ and the third most WAR. Their pitching looks pretty damn good to me.

Astros. In game 3. Think they will score runs and get a easy win

The twelve pitchers on the Dodgers’ World Series roster made over $87MM in 2017. That’s more than four MLB teams’ full opening day rosters.

But yeah, if they can’t win, just go out and get two more game-changing pitchers. . .

That's why I never support the Dodgers.

The Astros had the best offense in baseball by a wide margin. In fact, it ranks 4th in wRC+ since 1900.

They're going to score runs every now and then, even against a great pitching staff.
