It's ok they were down 5-0, they should have scored more than the other team.

But it's not ok to try to prevent being down 5-0 because the players should have been better.

But if it was expected that the team could/should outscore the other team because of opportunities, then why even pull Darvish at all? If Roberts had that much faith, he should have let it ride right?

With 20/20 hiundsight your first statement stands up, without it it doesn't so there is no need to comment on this further. Roberts made a decision that did not pan out. But you knew that, you are not that dumb, you are just playing dumb.
As for the second statement, Yes, the Dodger hitters failed in their performance. They had to pick the pitcher up and they did not. Its not like the Astros had Cy Young out there on the hill. We are talking about McCullers, Peacock and Morton; not exactly household names or guys that put any fear into the minds of hitters.

What!!!! The shorter the time period involved, the more the hitters gain on the pitching edge. Over a 162 game schedule I agree wholeheartedly that good pitching beats good hitting but that goes out the window in a short series as does almost every baseball adage.

Do you realize that the foundation of your stance here is that managers don't make mistakes ? It doesn't seem like you do. Managers get paid a lot of money to minimize those mental errors. Roberts clearly made one last night by leaving Darvish in too long. Many people saw that it was a mistake long before he gave up 5 runs and they said so at the time. I happened to be one of them.
