according to mlb, he has the option to take a job playing in the wbc. no one is forcing himCould have, but it didn't. It's also his job to play in spring training games. WBC? Not so much.

Let's just be happy this is all happening in pool play. I would be livid had this took place in the elimination round

While initial reaction to reading this post of yours was to laugh, I am now more determined than ever to give DB the Alaskan Pipeline this year.Funny, I was just thinking about how team USA has never won shit. Kinda reminds me of your fantasy team.

You wait asshole, I'm drafting Konerko with my first pick. We'll see who is laughing then.My initial reaction to this post of your was to laugh, then I read it again and I laughed harder.
One hundred fifty-two.
That was a good read. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.
However, the article said that when Japan won the whole fucking thing, their players were paid $90k. The major league minimum is nearly $500k.
my pocket is 50 dollars lighter.I am currently not proud to be an American
90k for 10 games aint arod at bat money but it aint bad either

No, it's not, but $90k if you win the tournament every four years doesn't make a lot of sense if you're risking at minimum $490k a year.
You get that pre-arb schedule clock and it doesn't matter unless you're DFA'd.
It matters if you blow out your knee.
Guys like Thor and what not who haven't even hit arbitration yet, I won't make a case against playing. But Trout has nothing to lose. Scherzer has nothing to lose. Posey, who's actually playing, has nothing to lose.
Team USA could win the thing, but if Andrew Miller came out of it lame, I'd consider it an unmitigated disaster.
