Is this fun or what?!

Seriously, though, what a gutless, feckless, uninspired pathetic-ass performance tonight, from the coaching staff down to the players. They ought to be embarrassed. If this is an apt representation of the 2019 Steelers, they wont win 5 games this season
They played this game like it was the 4th quarter of game 4 of pre-season.

Total embarrassment!

Expected a loss, but they looked like a college team.

Pittsburgh Steelers are to the Patriots as the Cleveland Browns are to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Also: I think we really missed Coach Munch yesterday.

That was the worst OL performance in a long time.

I think this is a different team if Johnson and Washington got more snaps than Switzer and Moncreif.

I don't understand why Switzer was featured. He isn't Edelman.

They just got their brains beat in last night.

We can blame Tomlin and staff for the poor game planning, but must tip the cap to NE's DEF especially. At least early, both DCs stuck with what worked in the game last year, and NE was ready for it on both sides of the ball.

One thing to look for next week vs SEA and beyond...passing out of the big run package look with the FB lead...clearly targeting the youngster Bush, they ran that 3 or 4 times and got behind the LBs every time.

Kelly had a rough night I thought as well.

Moncrief will bounce back hopefully, but Johnson or Washington will take the WR2 role before the season is out....Moncrief looks more like a WR3 on this team.

Yep...must've been for ST purposes...he got 8 snaps on OFC, targeted twice. The thought I guess is to get Skipper on the PS.

I'm not even going to lower myself to give my opinions on the team & the game... Just a colossal shitshow from top to bottom.

Shame on me for buying into all the "this is our year", "this team feels different & closer than ever before", yadda yadda yadda... If what we saw is the sum of all that hype, then pack it in boys. Window's closed.

FWIW:

Tomlin does a terrible job of evaluating talent level on his team, and preparing his starters to play in preseason. This is his annual 'slow start', because he's a shitbird coach.

Things will shake out and the right guys will rise to the top as the season goes on and they gain some proper cohesion. There are bunch of guys stealing snaps from better talent right now.

It was a recipe for disaster to have the Patriots in their house week 1.

Yea I know they'll get back into WC contention, like they do every year. Wouldn't be surprised if they went on a tear neither. But it's all for naught when the road goes through Foxborough every year. They can claw & fight their way to a divisional round matchup, but the same results will always ensue. Last year's fluke won't happen again.

Side note... The Steelers safeties were absolutely putrid last night. Edmunds was supposed to breakout this year, but all I saw was a kid way in over his head & out of position every play. And so much for all the Kelly hype. If he's the best of the rest behind Davis, then my god there's a serious talent depletion on the back end. Is Eric Berry still available?

Interesting that I'm sure with Tomlin's blessing, both coordinators came into this game with the same gameplan as the week 15 win last year.

Butler came out in man to man, and with not much heat on Brady they were ready for it, executed much like you would think a SB champion would.....they did flip back into zone, but of course they already know what to do vs zone.

The bottom line...no pressure on Brady.

OFC...the wide pitch plays they ran so well with Samuels...got next to nothing in this game. Moncrief can't have another game like that one and keep his role.

As ugly as it was, it was one game...they get another challenging opponent this week so they better be quick studies.

They were garbage. Started a guy at FS who barely made a weak safety roster, and wasn't expected to even make that.

The CB's are solid now, but safety wise, Pittsburgh is a mess, even if Davis was healthy.

They should honestly try to trade for someone. But then again if the men up front did their job then the entire secondary would benefit. All 11 played like dog shit.

This is very strange... So many 3rd & 1 situations where he would have been more useful than a 3rd WR or big set (extra OT posing as TE).
