Most likely that's true....Davis certainly does have Tomlin's support, but he will have to get back on the field soon because availability weighs a lot with him...I haven't read specifically what is wrong with Davis, but I've heard high ankle. If so, it might be another week or two, and if Kelly hasn't made any major mistakes, that won't be lost on Tomlin even if he does go back to Davis.

I think Davis will have to raise his game...as you've said before to paraphrase...internal competition only make you better.

Unless Kelly turns into a catastrophe out there, I’d completely support him being the starter. And that could open up big dime packages better with Davis sliding into the box and/or another nickel CB (like he has done before). I like Davis in the slot better than Sutton fwiw.

It's low hanging fruit, but the world is going crazy over it. He's getting more attention than he deserves. No matter what angle they choose to portray, the Steelers made the right decision in letting him go at whatever compensation they could get.

Yep. Brady doesn't have the arm strength to gunsling like Roethlisberger has done for AB. Brady's forte is the seems & underneath routes. AB is as good as anyone in the league in creating separation in short amounts of time though. I still think the Patriots will prefer to run the ball more this season. Now AB will open up the ground game better. Michel should have a monster year.

I'm a little worried about no Sean Davis because I'm not sure who takes Kam Kelly's spot as that big nickel/dime guy.

Just a note.....Brady only played a quarter and a half this preseason. He threw 16 passes. Average time of release was 1.85 seconds. Brady has worked diligently all off season on releasing ball faster than he every has previously. Defense will have to be very careful hitting Brady late.

Just a reminder. Belichick will have watched the Steelers in preseason and looked for any weakness, anywhere. His game plan will be to attempt to exploit that weakness. He will not take the Steelers lightly.

As far as sending AB deep, I don't think think the patriots will use him that way. Up 10 yards and then to post at a about a 30 degree angle. Brady will look to strike about 30 yards upfield and not much deeper.

Patriots will start slow and fall behind tonight. They'll pick it up in the second half and win by 7-10. It might be the game of the week.

Seriously, though, what a gutless, feckless, uninspired pathetic-ass performance tonight, from the coaching staff down to the players. They ought to be embarrassed. If this is an apt representation of the 2019 Steelers, they wont win 5 games this season
