Sometimes two people break up, date around or even get married and then realize the mistake they made. Occasionally they end back up together and live happily ever after. I have never believed Nebraska is better off outside the Big XII. If you're a good school with a good faculty, the research money is going to come regardless of which conference you are a member of. BUT, the other factors such as geographic fit, culture and history are just as important in the long run. Come home, Nebraska.

We were married for decades... we even let you have your side piece, yeah were thoughtful and considerate of your needs. Then you leave us for them and want to make us the side piece?

Oh no you didn't...

Nebraska goes back to the Big 12 and then Texas/Oklahoma go to the Big10 forcing the Big12 to finally crumble into pieces as everyone expected would happen back in 2011.

Texas with the ultimate final blow.

You lost me. OU and Nebraska were thick as thieves and no two major schools in the country had the positive relationship we had between our fans, coaches and administrations. It was something the rest of the country could never quite understand. OU/Texas is a hate relationship and that rivalry wasn't even in the same conference. The Big XII divisional thing took some of the air out of the balloon but don't think for a moment the OU fans didn't look forward to playing Nebraska....even when we were terrible and you were still riding high. Out here on the West Coast, the OU fans and the Nebraska fans would watch the OU/NU games together instead of at separate watch parties. Nebraska has never been a "side piece" to Oklahoma. Never.

Can't imagine Nebraska will pay the financial amount necessary to sever itself from the BigTen.

The Big 12 commissioner said today during a conference call with reporters that the league has not had any discussions with anyone from Nebraska.

I'm not sure the big 10 would even allow it anyway.

It's an easy come back to how Nebraska left the Big12 and blamed it all on Texas.

It is on Texas. Notice how every other year when the talk of the big 12 dissolving comes up, its always because of Texas.

They should just go independent and make everyone happy.

Besides the year 2011? When everyone was leaving the Big12, when has there been talk about the Big12 dissolving? They've been pretty rock solid since all those other teams left and they acquired TCU/WVU. Recently implementing a conference champ game that sort of makes their conference a little stronger. Still with room to easily add 2 teams in the future.

Obviously as it stands, in 2020, the Big12 is in better shape then the Big10.
