You see how Geno struggled this year? Winston would make Geno look like Dan Marino.

You don't seriously believe that Geno Smith is better than Jameis Winston, do you? Winston was a freshman this year and he had just as good of a season that Smith did as a senior.

clowney has a good argument for #1

I wouldn't take clowney number 1. Look at his stats. He had one spectacular year. Faked injuries so he wouldn't have to play games this year, complete headcase, takes way too many plays off. Not the type of person I would want to spend that kind of money on. He should be a 5-10 pick.

Winston is a top 10 pick right now. He has nothing to gain by staying, and a lot to lose. NFL should have exception for projected top 10, 15 or 1st round picks. Whatever it is. He is at his max earning potential now. Let him cash in. But, its their rules, and I didnt root for the dude suing hooters to be a waiter and Iwouldnt root for winston suing the nfl.

Bet he finds a way to get some massive insurance for next season.

exception:

getting a neck injury in year #1

Nope. An intelligent person could still easily do more with the capital from the signing bonus, assuming a reasonably high draft pick.

Absolutely not. The NFL is just protecting players who aren't physically mature enough to play at the pro level.

He asked the goals. I gave him the goal in baseball. He wants him to leave because he knows his Canes are screwed if he stays.

it's a self-serving and greedy attempt to preserve what is essentially a free farm system for the NFL – and a corrupt and hypocritical college-football machine that pays off coaches and administrators while exploiting the labor of its elite athletes.
