To be my normal fair self, that wasn't a reasonable expectation going into the game. They were being homers, not highly educated students of the NFL when making those predictions. Blowouts like that don't happen very often in the NFL period. Much less against a quality opponent in the Super Bowl.

Denver is not the first quality opponent that Seattle has dismantled under prime time lights. I didnt think they were a balanced enough team to compete with Seattle. I predicted a 19 point win by Seattle because thats how I genuinely felt. And that was no disrespect to Denver, outside of the prediction threads I didnt harp on it. It was just how I felt about it.

I wouldnt call that uneducated. This is Pete Carroll we're talking about. He had a reputation for slicing up the best competition in the biggest games at USC and he's developing a similar reputation in Seattle.

I didn't see a whole lot of arrogant predictions from those guys, but when I saw them I pointed them out. If I saw a Denver fan that said Manning would throw for 400 yards, I told him that wouldn't happen.

Winning just is who we are. We've never had to struggle for long periods of time. Well, the Steelers did but it was before I was born.

Still..as long as I've been alive my Steelers have been winning.

But it's not that way for all franchises. For some, it seems that you take one step forwards and two steps back (Cleveland).

It's HARD to win a SB. I think there are 13 franchises that don't have a single Lombardi. She's a fickle mistress. (I think the ones that aren't are: Bills, Bengals, Browns, Texans, Jags, Titans, Chargers, Eagles, Lions, Vikings, Falcons, Panthers, Cards.

Of those there are a few that have never even been there: Browns, Texans, Jags, Lions.

For fans of clubs that have hung with their clubs for that long...every year seemed it was a down year and other fans rip on you for supporting your team....when you finally get there, yeah - some cry.

Hell, I know I did after our wins in 2005 and 2008. I thought SB XLIII was going to give me a heart attack right at the end.

So if a Seahawk fan is so happy he or she wants to cry - let them. Let them enjoy it.

Without the fans, there is no NFL.

Nope, and I'll ask you for proof again, and again you won't provide it. There are lots of people I don't agree with and debate with often without incident. Parity is a great thing in sports... No one enjoys having the same team/teams win championships every year. After a week, I've come to be ok with the Seahawks joining the club. Congrats all! The hardest thing now is to keep contending year in and year out but you have the monkey off your back now.

It's a really cool thing to see a championship for your team while you are living. I've been lucky.

Thanks, and I think most of our base knows this era of free agency and caps makes it much harder to have a dynasty in. There were at least 4 or 5 plays over the season that had they not worked out they alone might have kept us out of the SB. It takes an incredible string of events to make it that far and we are all happy that monkey is off our backs. I know some of our fans believe we will repeat or win x out of the next y, but those of us who have followed the NFL for years know how unlikely that all is. For now we will just enjoy this off season and look forward to seeing more quality football next year.
