The only thing I have said in this thread is that 20 million for cutler would ruin your franchise. If people weren't insisting on arguing me on it, I would not be responding.

Get this through your pea brain- Nobody is arguing with you. The reality is if the Bears want him, and after its all played out that turns out to be the number its going to take to keep him, IT IS WHAT IT IS. Your pontification takes a backseat to that reality.

If i was him,I`d be very embarrased of myself if i commanded that type of money...He is not an elite qb,ad def out of the the top 12 qbs playing.Maybe even 15.......
He has not done anything for the organization that i can think of.

if he asks for that,emery and co. need to laugh and tell him to get.

He's definitely a top 12 QB. He's a very good NFL QB, just not great.

What has he done for the organization? How about what has the organization done for him? Up until this year they've put him behind the worst O-line in football, and given him a kick return man as his #1 WR (up until last year).

Cutler is 30-14 since his first year here. One of the highest winning % amongst QB's in that time. Without him, the Bears are 1-7. An abysmal 1-7 at that. Every time this team has been without Jay, they've gone from looking like a contending team, to looking like they should be competing for the #1 pick in the draft.

Jay has made this team competitive, and given A GOD AWFUL offense life in his time here. Led us to the brink of the Super Bowl in his second season here, and then the next year, when the Bears look poised for another deep run. Jay went down with a season ending injury.

He's done a lot for this organization. Without him, this team is a perennial bottom feeder over the past four seasons.

While I agree that Cutler NEEDS to step up and get the job done this season, and if he doesn't it's definitely plausible to start searching for other options. However, to shun him aside, is ridiculous.

Depends on how this year plays out.

Pretty much every Bears vet on defense is a free agent next year.

Tillman, Briggs, Jennings, Gould, Melton, and there's the Peppers situation to deal with. He seems to be turning a corner, and he still has one year left on his big deal. He still has enough left to be an impact guy this year, and looked great on Sunday. However, he's undoubtedly slowed down.

He`s playing with rookies and back-ups.
Gronk hurt,Amendola hurt,Hernandez is in prison,Vereen is hurt and welker is in Denver...Missing vital parts.
Lets see,last I seen,Forte is healthy,Marshall is healthy,Jefferies is healthy,Marterllus is the best te we have had in a long time,we got a decent o-line..........Yeah,I`d have to say that Cutler is playing with an all around better unit.
