Yankees struggle, idiot Yankee fans "27 rings"

Red Sox suck, Celtics suck, we get threads like this. Nothing in the present worth discussing, we start recapping the past decade

No different

But the fact is, the Boston fans have turned into exactly what they whined about NY fans for being, for many many years prior to 2004

And that's pretty funny

You get threads like this because the NEW YORK TIMES did a little "study" concluding that Boston has seen more than its fair share of championships. Of course the other teams ('cept for the Pats, they rool) struggling makes it perfect timing for Rock to remind every one, thanks to our friends at the New York Times, how great it has been to be a Boston sports fan.

Did u just say Tufts men's lacrosse??

lol... Realizing of course the best lacrosse in the country high school and college is played in Maryland.

Whoa whoa whoa pretty sure Denver just won the Division I Championship over Maryland so the best Lacrosse in the country for college at least is in Colorado.

Well if you want to narrow things down to the "4 big" sports then shouldn't I be able to narrow it down to the top division in college sports? I mean I think it is pretty obvious that most pro athletes these days do come out of Division I so saying the top team in Division I is the best college team in the country really isn't that far of a stretch here.

Maryland (the state) doesn't have near the dominance it used to have.

Maryland the college actually hasn't won a Championship since 1975. They are 2-12 in the Championship game and 0-8 in the last 8 times they have been there.

Can we move this thread to the pathetic board? Too many sensitive cyber-egos crying about why the place where their mom shit them out is superior.

Didn't tge Sox win a World series after beating a certain team by coming back from three games down? Never happened before if I recall?

The Yankees have been in a tailspin ever since this moment:

"I hate the Yankees" would have saved you time

You just ripped 5 guys that would be the best starters on the Red Sox right after you told me "long way to go" about the Red Sox

Oy.....You've been using that "could have saved you time" line for 10 years. It never gets old! :L

Anyhoo....what was wrong with what I wrote? What do you disagree with?

-Pineda has looked great, but he's never thrown 200 innings before.
-Tanaka's already been on the DL once this year and another trip wouldn't surprise anyone.
-Nova sucks(sorry, he does).
-Warren is decent the first time through the lineup.
-They could still win the AL East, but that is hardly a "complete team".

Where are the disagreements?

Teams winning when you're a fan of that team > team winning 50 years before you were even born.

Yankee fans that want to reminisce about Jeffrey Mayer, Bernie W, and Scott Brosius etc Go ahead. Hell I liked Ron Guidry in my yute. The problem is that Yankee fans never went that route - it was always 27.

In comparison you rarely hear Celtics fans counting rings. I personally don't care what the Celtics did in the 60s because I wasn't alive for it.

Nobody wants to talk about what the Yankees have done lately. It's much more impressive to talk about Joe DiMaggio and The Mick than it is a team that's won one playoff series in 4 years(and hasn't made the playoffs in 3).

You had a list of cities of how they did in a 50-year margin. I was just curious where SF fell on that list. I never said SF had as many as Boston or Pittsburgh. I just noticed SF has done quite good in last 50 years.

Yes they have :suds:
