Personally I think that building an OHL team and coaching them is pretty different from coaching an NHL team. Handling pros isn't like handling kids.
I also think that part of Washington's problems during their decline have come from focusing on getting/keeping "gritty" players who "play the right way" without proper regard for whether or not those players are actually skilled. That seems like it only would have been worse with Hunter on the bench.

My choices would be Gretzky, Howe, Orr and Plante (wearing the first goalie mask, wouldn't recognize him without it)

Current: Crosby, Ovie, Jagr and Suter

Leafs: Keon, Sittler, Salming and Broda

Well, I wanted to include one D man. Picking all forwards seemed odd to me in the "dead puck era". Why Suter? I wanted to respect longevity (which is also why McJesus and others are not on there). Keith I just did not think of. Either one is a great choice. Chara, I just don't like him. I really wanted to pick Weber, and would have but just couldn't given his current uniform

So, overall, no really good reason

I'd personally go Keith for a d-man from this era but besides the lack of playoff success (which is overlooked for Ovie so why not him as well) Suter is a pretty good choice. He's 8th in scoring among defencemen in the past decade and among the top 10 on that list he has by far the lowest even-strength goals against while averaging the most ice time.
