Jimmy G got paid a boatload of money for no actual performance. Can he be a great QB? Nobody knows and if anybody tells you that they do know... it’s all just a guess
Not what I was told. Told I was dumb . And someone saw it with their own eyes

@dbldwn711 what do you make of this? im told i never back up the statements, yet i have posted numerous things. Kinda like PE1 , lil ricky refutes it. THen comes back with long winded replies that say nothing. They basically sum up with "I know what i saw with my eyes" , and "come back when you have something"

Is Nick Mullens' success proof the San Francisco 49ers overpaid Jimmy Garoppolo?

Lets see this was in december

Mullens Has Put Up Garoppolo-Type Numbers

I dunno doesnt seem on the surface like 120million dollar difference, right now at least. It could be. BUt not now

I think this is a bit misleading. I really like Mullens because he is scrappy and a very hard worker but he has most probably hit his ceiling. His early success has been because of Shanahan's system but his very limited arm really limits what he can do and I believe one teams have a second go around they will be able to defend him and limit what he can do.

How Mullens was able to flourish despite low PFF numbers

Good article. And i agree. But tbh both have very small sample sizes

Yes, that is true. Mullens is limited by his arm and I believe he hit his ceiling. I don't think it is a coincidence we are not hearing about teams beating down the door trying to trade for mullens. But yes, the sample sizes are too small. This year will hopefully give us some answers

Potato Salad. There are plenty of injury prone QB's you can find for much less dough.

I think the jury is still out on both guys. I loved what I saw in 2017 from Garopollo when he came to the Niners. he changed the attitude of the whole team. Didn't care much for the happy-footed, scared and confused looking guy we saw this year before he got hurt.

Neither guy has shown squat.
You must have missed the last 5 games of the season for the Niners two years ago once Garapollo started playing. They went from 1 and 10 to 6 and 10. Just a stunning turnaround. He changed the whole dynamic of the team. This year though before he got hurt he was completely different. Just mediocre.

The thing that worries me is the difference between how he played in 2017 and 2018.

Little to no difference between the two years. First and foremost for myself is if he can play generally full seasons.

Huge difference. A complete game changer in 2017 and a skittish throw-the-ball-up-for grabs guy in 2018.

Huge difference between Garopollo's 2017 stint with the Niners and his 2108 one.
