Their QB skills may be similar but Baker is by far the better leader. also Sam has shown that he cannot handle pressure.
pretty easy and evident decision

Baker is clearly better. He was hurt last year. His 2020 was far better than anything Darnold has produced.

Baker.

The only reason why they start Darnold is because they want to find a trade partner & give Baker time to adjust to the new offense. Make it look like they want to keep him, even though they CLEARLY gave up on him based on this offseason... They put a lot of scouting into QBs in the draft, were heavily involved in trade rumors, and then threw the kitchen sink at Deshaun Watson. Those aren't signs of a team that are willing to give Darnold another chance. 2/3 of the picks they traded to acquire him were from the 2022 draft, which in essence makes it seem like they drafted 2 QBs this offseason. And yet they still went after numerous QBs via trade.

there were already rumors of them shopping Darnold.
Although I cant see anyone taking that contract for a back up QB. So I believe they are stuck with him.
So might as well play the part & say there is a QB competition. (Darnold would have to blow away Mayfield to be the starter)

Baker starts since he's the better option but once the Panthers are out of the playoff race I could see a change at QB and give Corral the rest of the starts to get him ready for next season.

Baker starts the season, but I don't think he'll finish the season.

Do you think it's possible that he only plays one season in Carolina and then goes to another team that will be looking for a starter in 2023? Giants, Seahawks?

Possibly but it won't be Giants or Seahawks. Both those teams will be drafting QoF next draft.

Going with Mayfield. If he's not injured he's worlds better than the others.

That jackass in cleats BM is better than Darnold. Just look at the head to head numbers. BM has a better record. Better completion percentage. Better rating. Has won a playoff game.

Darnold's never had a winning season. His TD to int ratio is awful (54 to 52 / BM's is 92 to 56). Not good, but still better than SD.

Has only completed 60% of his passes once. BM's done that 3x.

At this point, you can make an argument that Carolina has a decent chance to win their division. If Brady doesn't come back to Tampa, it's hard to see them recovering from that let-down.... The Falcons are clearly playing for the future. The Saints could have Andy Dalton looking at significant playing time. I could see Baker playing the "nobody believes in me" card and getting that team in contention for their division.

Even if TB comes back....his OL took a hit with their losses in the offseason.
