Damn, how do I vote and NOT show bias...?
I know. Same day as mine(17th)...As a Raider fan, I hate to say this but IMO it's yes.
He will have accomplished something Brady never did with a 3-peat. And at just 29 (bday is in September) he will have time to get even more.
Those 2 voters should try the political forum - if they are not already there......I said maybe, lol @ 2 votes for I hate football.
Yep.I said maybe, lol @ 2 votes for I hate football.
I think Kelce is already the greatest TE in NFL history - he’s had seven 1,000 yard seasons, most of any TE in history, plus his playoff success, and he’s not finished yet. He gets my vote as the best TE ever.If we're talking legacy, its easier to line up where Andy Reid and Travis Kelce are just due to where they are in their career.
A lot of people forget about Tony Gonzalez.I think Kelce is already the greatest TE in NFL history - he’s had seven 1,000 yard seasons, most of any TE in history, plus his playoff success, and he’s not finished yet. He gets my vote as the best TE ever.
Tony Gonzalez was awesome, I loved him when he was with the Falcons, but Kelce is better IMO. Kelce has already had more 1,000 yard seasons than Gonzalez did, and way more postseason success. Gonzalez played for a very long time, 17 seasons, while Kelce has been in the NFL for 11, played in 10 as he was injured his rookie year, Kelce is on pace to top Gonzalez’ numbers but he already gets my vote as best TE ever, he’s just more dominant than I’ve ever seen any other TE be.A lot of people forget about Tony Gonzalez.
Kelce might get there but right now Gonzalez has better numbers.
And as he gets older....Kelce will be more susceptible to injury....Tony Gonzalez was awesome, I loved him when he was with the Falcons, but Kelce is better IMO. Kelce has already had more 1,000 yard seasons than Gonzalez did, and way more postseason success. Gonzalez played for a very long time, 17 seasons, while Kelce has been in the NFL for 11, played in 10 as he was injured his rookie year, Kelce is on pace to top Gonzalez’ numbers but he already gets my vote as best TE ever, he’s just more dominant than I’ve ever seen any other TE be.

LOL, I'd like to think it's a couple of guys in here clicking that option just for shits & grins. I mean, why otherwise would anyone hang in a football forum if they hate football? Those 2 voters should try the political forum - if they are not already there......
HOF speaking?Self explanatory.
Vote and discuss.
Great post.We don't have to sweat eras too much because they had five overlapping seasons as starters (bearing in mind that Brady was old and Mahomes young):
Brady, 2018-2022
55-27, 23,055 passing yds, 161 TDs, 52 INTs, 65.5% completion rate, 155 rush yds, 11 rush TDs
Playoffs: 8-3, 3,174 passing yds, 17 TDs, 9 INTs, 61.3% completion rate, -7 rush yds, 1 rush TD
2 rings
Mahomes, 2018-2022
63-16, 23,957 passing yds, 192 TDs, 48 INTs, 66.4% completion rate, 1,537 rush yds, 12 rush TDs
Playoffs: 11-3, 4,084 yds, 35 TDs, 7 INTs, 67.3% completion rate, 383 rush yds, 5 rush TDs
2 rings
Record
Regular season: Mahomes, 3-1
Playoffs: Brady, 2-0
So Mahomes is clearly better statistically, but Brady knocked him out of the playoffs both times they met, one in SB LV. That's something Mahomes can never get back even if he wins eight rings.
But if Mahomes wins another ring or two, it's those two in the conversation and nobody else.
Eli Manning knocked Brady out of the Super Bowl a couple of times. Best I can tell, a top QB gets you to the AFCCG or NFCCG but you kinda need an OL and a defense to win the Super Bowl generally. So Mahomes is clearly better statistically, but Brady knocked him out of the playoffs both times they met, one in SB LV. That's something Mahomes can never get back even if he wins eight rings.
Boom.Brady knocked him out of the playoffs both times they met, one in SB LV. That's something Mahomes can never get back even if he wins eight rings.
Good post. When I’m invited into your criteria, I have to agree. However, if I think about this criteria and I apply it to other times, when Montana was GOAT I answer Marino to this question. When the GOAT was Brady I might have picked Manning with your criteria.I think he's the GOAT already, in the sense of what human being played the position best in the history of the game. Brady has the better career of course, and statistically may always have that due to rings. But in terms of which person would you select to create the best possible football team you could, for the QB position it's Mahomes and it's really not close. He does everything any of the greats did and does more than them too.
Football is the most team sport of all, and rings are team accomplishments. Dan Marino proves that, as does Eli Manning. Mahomes is GOAT.
