I could be convinced he belongs on that list…
Saying you'd have to be "convinced" about Shaq...
And you wonder why some here seem to think you're a troll...

He was anointed, even non-sports fans knew who he was before his first game. Lebron was the biggest wave of anticipation in NBA history. Were you there? Did you experience it? I’m curious, because a 22 year old can’t much give an informed opinion (not saying you’re 22, but there’s a lot of NBA fans under 30 talking about Michael Jordan as if they know what the context was)And thanks for your... approval...
Stats still matter. I didn't think LeBron was all that "charismatic either, but there ya go...
I’m not doubting his talent and potential, but I don’t think he’ll ever reach the short list of true faces of the NBA. We can agree to disagreeSo what's your point? The guy's still a human cheat code, granted he's not yet reached his potential. Time and more games under his belt and I think it comes out in the wash...
Convinced as far being on the level of Magic, Larry, Mike, Lebron? Yes.Saying you'd have to be "convinced" about Shaq...

Remember, the Lakers were getting bounced out of the playoffs with Shaq and Kobe at ease until Phil Jackson got there in 2000. It takes dominating success to be on that level.
But, looking back I probably left Shaq off unfairly.
I’ll say Shaq wasn’t MJ or Lebron, but you’re rightThe years you picked (1999-2003) Shaq was Batman on a three-peat team and arguably the most recognizable athlete on the planet.
MJ couldn't get past the Celtics until Phil Jackson took over as HC and Scottie Pippen figured out that he was a pretty good basketball player.

You could’ve argued AI was the best player in the NBA for a few seasons. It’s hard to compare him with guys around 7-ft tall.Shaq and Kobe possibly… Iverson was never beyond basketball culture, and was never the best player in the league..
I don’t think you could make that argument, you’d have to point out years. You could’ve argued AI was the best player in the NBA for a few seasons. It’s hard to compare him with guys around 7-ft tall.
Did you watch the NBA in the early-mid 2000’s? I didn’t know an argument for AI needed further explanation.I don’t think you could make that argument, you’d have to point out years.
Yes. He was an ineffeciant volume scorer who had one amazing playoff run but was largely a demoralizing teammate who didn’t make guys around him better. Like Carmelo Anthony. As skilled as both are, I wouldn’t want either as a the foundation of my teamDid you watch the NBA in the early-mid 2000’s? I didn’t know an argument for AI needed further explanation.
