Oh I agree with you on what it should be like. Unfortunately that is not the case and every year we see these Coordinators for some of the top teams go get interviews then struggle when they actually have to play a game.

Like I said there have been countless examples of this happening.
Broncos in 2014 losing both coordinators lost to a team they were expected to destroy
2011 Packers who went 15-1 with rumors that Philbin was moving on and the offense came out flat and lost to the Giants.

Yeah, I get all that. Been that way for decades, I know.
Matters more to teams that may lose a great mind then not.

But see that is the case every year. Teams that get a bye week can have their coaches interview during that week but not the week of the game. And we have seen that effect the play on the field. Coaches knowing they have a job waiting for them already focused on where they are going next. Or say players know the coach is gone and that changing the attitude of the players in the locker room. It happens every year.

Patriots players know:

1)Anybody can be gone at any time
2)This is not the 1st time that our coaches have been interviewed
3) Our coaches are expected to excel and be promoted

Well I would say the same thing for the Broncos though...No team has had more coordinators hired away than that of the Broncos over the last 4 years. It still became a distraction. And Elway has shown he has no problem cutting anybody. There is rumor he was close to cutting Manning because they couldn't agree on a pay cut.
