Opinions vary. However those from real veterans are not so negative.

Have a good day little camper.

Walk into a Legion or a VFW and yell out, "You are all stolen Valor liars" and see how politely you are treated.

Why? Are they claiming stolen valor on a message board too?

Well, why don't you make ignorant assumptions about them like you are doing towards me and go and find out. Go on, I dare you.
I bet your dad can beat up my dad too...

You not knowing what a 5 year commitment was showed you are lacking and all the googling you can do will not make up for that.

Just STFU dude, we've heard you bs broken record same line forever now. We get it, you believe no team outside of Clemson, OSU, SEC ever will win a title, EVER.

I can't wait to play Michigan in a few months. Will you at least STFU after my Gophers beat your Wolverines?
First, I really enjoyed your season this year. You guys beat us out for WR Rashod Bateman, a good ole Tift County boy, so I've been following you since. It was great to see your team and school go crazy over football. Glad they did Game Day there.

That said, there's truth to what the other poster is saying, and that is a problem for college football in the long run. Your story this past year was great for college football, but at the end of the day talent will win out. You simply lack a recruiting base in-state, it will be rare that elite talent will want to go from the south to the great white cold north, and even if you keep your coach long enough to coach up the lesser rated players, there is nothing we can point at that would show that you will win at all, let alone on a consistent basis.

As I said, I think this a problem for college football in the long run. If it gets so concentrated in the south, and a few schools elsewhere, I fear for its popularity. We need teams like yours to be successful. Right now it's because of the coach, but how long will he be there when Michigan comes calling when they finally fire that loser Harbaugh? Maybe the transfer portal with a one-time free move will help. Maybe paying for the players likeness. But, it seems those things will help the already entrenched teams.

Anyway, good luck ... your run last year was great and a lot of fun!

Yeah, that was funny, I guess. I just give people too much credit. Never thought anyone would claim fanship of teams that they were not really fans of just to send some subliminal message that they are a sleezy disease ridden whore, lol.

As for thinking people don't know what I'm talking about? Well, often times they don't.

An example, is both Handi and Oregon boy thinking that Wiki list of Olympians was accurate, lol. It took me about 5 seconds to scroll down to Minnesota to see it was inaccurate/incomplete. I mean, ANYONE aware of the Miracle on Ice would know the Gophers have more than 4 Gold Medalists. Heck, Lindsay Whalen won her 2nd in 2016.

Another example is Oregon boy thinking the NIT was a chump tournament like it is now, back in 1939. Just simple ignorance of history.

Obviously handi's sarcasm is over your head. He doesn't root for any of those teams. I always took it as a joke. You haven't though.

The NIT is only one year older than March Madness. You seem to be trying to belittle Oregon's legit 1939 March Madness national title.

I spelled out the teams under your avatar. What are you talking about?

You need an explanation? :pound:The teams under handi's avatar spell out a word. Mine don't.

But you're not the first to question the teams I root for. So I thought I'd explain it. I also root for the CU Buffs. My oldest son graduated from there & my youngest will graduate in May. Although if you ever take a trip to CO. I suggest avoiding Boulder. Too many people in too small of a city. And the majority of locals are douchebags.

Yes... I know.

Obviously your teams, and their order, spell nothing but nonsense. I was playing on your reply in that they DO spell something.

I didn't question the teams you root for. I don't care. Happens to me sometimes too.

By the way, I lived in Arvada CO for a few years. Boulder is pretty nice, but filled with stuck up snobs.

Ray Barracks. Friedburg, Germany. Friedburg pronounced Freedburg. Just outside of Frankfurt.
I bet your dad can beat up my dad too...

You not knowing what a 5 year commitment was showed you are lacking and all the googling you can do will not make up for that.

Seeing as my father played lineman on a college football team and also played college bb as well, he just might be able to beat up on your father?

And dude, you ever consider we are saying the same thing just differently?

What part of a 5 year commitment as an officer, coming AFTER 4 years of schooling/training at an academy are you claiming is not accurate?

I've asked you geniuses to explain to me whether my assessment of the 5 year commitment as an officer coming AFTER their time at the academy, is not accurate?

I haven't googled anything, don't feel I need to. If I am wrong, then maybe I am? I did not go through with it, I did not go to West Point, so who knows, maybe I am wrong, maybe I did not understand at that time, almost 35 years ago, how it worked, maybe it was me who misunderstood? So explain it to me in your own words. I haven't googled nothing, so why do you need to google it? Your linking me to some article you googled proves nothing more than what I can go figure out on my own. I want to see you write it out in your own words, so that I can know whether or not you are full of sh1t or not. Maybe you are the stolen glory asshole just googling sh1t and pretending that you are a military vet?

The minute I do go and google it, chances are I'll figure out that I was right, and then I'll have my proof, like I most often do, no matter what it is I'm talking about, I've always got a source, unless I state clearly it's just my opinion. And even then I'm usually right on. Or close enough.

So go on, explain it to me. Do the year at the academy count towards the 5 years, or not? If they do not, then I am right, so what the fuck are you making an issue about?

I made an 8 year commitment. The 1st year, I was in but still in high school, but that first year, my last year of high school, counted against my 8 years. So I only had 2 years and 11 months left of my 8 years when I finished up my 4 years and 1 month of active service.

Now PLEASE, entertain me, and explain to me how what I just wrote in the previous paragraph, also proves I am lying, lol. I can't wait to hear this.

No, it is not over my head. I just didn't notice it. Wasn't looking for it. Never expected to have to look for retarded not even jr high level crap like that in people's profiles. Once you pointed it out, it chuckled once, and then lost what little respect I may have had for Handi. Never mind, cancel that last part, I had lost all respect for Handi long before that.

As for the NIT, doesn't matter if it was 10 years or only 1 year older, in 1939, it was deemed by cbb fans all throughout the country as the better and more legit tournament, go and look it up, it's common knowledge among knowledgeable cbb fans, and hence why both the Helms Athletic Foundation and the Premo-Poretta Poll gave the Title to LIU, the UNDEFEATED LIU team, who crushed one of the teams that beat Oregon by 13 pts(a large winning margin back then), Butler, one of 5 teams that beat Oregon.

Am I belittling Oregon's title? I don't know, is he trying to belittle my University and their cfb program? He tries to belittle it's past and it's present and it's future, so yeah, sure, of course I am returning the favor, why not, it's more than warranted under the circumstances.

Well, I have high hopes for Minnesota to do well, and those hopes are based on legit factors. Factors that will help them improve their recruiting. And a good team, that plays well together and knows the system and listens to their coach and is devoid of lazy players or players with oversized egos, can often beat the more talented team that ARE filled with lazy players and player with oversized egos. I think Clemson might be an example of this. Looking just at their recruiting rankings, there is no way they should have won a single Natl Title, not yet at least. But they did.

Nebraska has been sucking wind lately, and still is bringing in recruiting classes in the lower 20s and teens.

If they can do that, UMn with a guy like Fleck with their brand new top notch facilities, can do what Nebraska has done and even better, he just needs a little more time. I can see him bringing in classes equivalent to what Clemson was bringing in his first couple of season, the classes that basically helped them win 2 Natl Titles.

Those of us associated with the military know exactly what he meant when he said "commitment is 5 years".

Army Football: Recruiting Process to Play Football at West Point

"Graduates have a commitment to serve at least five years in the US Army, "

GRADUATES!!!!

Did you see that word? GRADUATES.

They were not talking about high school graduates, they were talking about West Point GRADUATES!!!

Didn't even have to google anything. Just looked back over YOUR post. You prove me right, lol. Moron. Wow, how simple minded and retarded you morons are.

West Pointers need FOUR YEARS of study and training before they can GRADUATE. Any prospective high school student, thinking about going to West Point, has to be willing to spend NINE YEARS, minimum, committed to getting through West Point, and then committed to serving the Army as an officer.

If you are a Senior in high school, ready to graduate in the spring of 2020, and want to get a degree from West Point, but do not want to make it a career? You will not be free to go get a civilian job until sometime after the spring of 2029.

NINE YEARS!!!

10-11 years if they join the Army and then get an invite and have to get through one year at USMAPS.

BOOM!!!

... can often beat the more talented team that ARE filled with lazy players and player with oversized egos.
If this has "often" happened, can you list them? It rarely happens. And it even more rarely happens consistently and when it matters.

I think Clemson might be an example of this. Looking just at their recruiting rankings, there is no way they should have won a single Natl Title, not yet at least. But they did.
Which part of Clemson's rankings make you think they are devoid of talent? Don't let the low numbers in 2017 and 2018 fool you ... they tool really small classes those years. This year they were 3rd, with the 2nd highest average player rating. In 2017, they were 16th, but only took 14 players, but was in the top 5 for average player rating. In 2018 they were 7th, but with on 17 players and the 3rd highest average player ratings. In 2019 they were 10th, with a huge class starting to make up for the previous 2 years.

FWIW, I do agree with you that Clemson has done more with their players that aren't as highly ranked as say Bama, UGA, tOSU. But, their talent is still miles ahead of your team. If you look at the 247 Team Talent Composite Rankings, Clemson is 9th, while you guys are 46th. You have 5 4*, and 74 3*. Clemson has 7 5*, 33 4*, and 33 3*. That's a talent gap that you just can't overcome on a regular basis, and barely on a one-off, which to your credit you did this past year. Like I said, you were a fund and exciting team to watch. 2019 College Football Team Talent Composite

To compete for the CFP, you have to bring in top 5 classes, not top 10 or top 20. The talent gap, and lack of depth is too much. Again, you need to dig deeper on Clemson ... you are misinterpreting their recruiting. Also, you aren't in Clemson's conference ... you have to go through some combination of Iowa, Wisconsin, UM, PSU, and tOSU. Clemson is winning right now in the weakest conference in the country, with talent way above what you have.

I hate that this sounds like I'm hating on your team, because I'm not. But, fax are fax.

But you compare how Clemson's players on the current roster are ranked, compared to UMn's players on their current roster.

I'm trying to compare UMn going into their 4th season under Fleck, compared to Clemson going into their 4th season under Dabo.

Do you see where I am going with that?

Sure, they just brought in the #3 rated class. Those recruits had NOTHING, not even close to anything to do with Clemson's Natl titles in 2016 and 2018.

That 2016 title, Dabo's first, was made up of players from what kind of recruiting classes? You have to go back to the incoming classes of 2014, 2013 & 2012 for the most part, and MAYBE 2015 & 2016 if Dabo was playing 1st and 2nd year players on that Title winning team.

So STOP, please, telling me about any recruiting classes making up their current roster, that's not relevant to my point, not at all. All that information tells me is that Clemson is not going anywhere and may end up in the cfp every year from 2020 til 2029, maybe?

I'm concentrating on HOW Clemson got to the point that they could win in 2016 when back before Dabo got there, they struggled to make the Top 25.
